Try going thru GSD rescues - They are much more reputable and responsible than breeders.. Plus you're saving a life, instead of supporting breeders. Even if you find a "reputable" breeder just remember, if they really loved dogs, they'd be out there saving the breed instead of bringing more into this world for their own selfish needs.
If you can't find a rescue in oregon, try neighboring states. I'm sure you want a puppy, and those may be harder to find, but you never know. Lots of shelters in the south (georgia, LA, etc) get puppies upon puppies each day, purebred, mixed, etc. and those puppies get a week before facing the gas chamber. So try looking everywhere. i kinda got carried away but I hope you change your mind and decide to rescue.

get a rescue dog - they have pure breed without you supporting a puppy mill
