It really depends on the person and the quality and openness of the relationship. For instance how comfortable you are with each other and honesty with each other also will play a big part. Also be careful that he's not just playing you.

We all change every day, so you will never completely know anyone but your own self.
You didn't say how long you've known him, but I personally can tell a lot about a person after a couple months.
Also, if you THINK you're in love with him, you probably aren't yet, you just love things ABOUT him so far and that's a good start.

That all depends on how your communication with the person goes. If you talk to him almost everyday then you should know him good.
But in most cases, people do not reveal everything about themselves even if you prod them. Respect his space and his privacy, as he would do the same.
I some cases it takes forever to know a person, while others it takes a few months. But you would not fully know a person because people are afraid to tell everything about them.Simply because of fears of losing a person for something they did in the past.

I would say a year. Relationships that I have had in the past did not even make it to three months because things went too fast. My current husband was my friend for a least a year, we are very happily married, because we were friends first, there were no surprises because I already knew everything about him and more, because we were not in a romantic relationship. We were buddies, when he said he loved me, I could not believe my luck, I did not even know I'd fallen in love too.

You can live with a person for a lifetime and think you know her and after that you realize that you don't.
.In your case I think you should give him a little bit time, don't push him to do something that he is not ready to do,if he loves everything will go just the way you want, just be patient
good luck

Because you may feel love, and he may be proceeding with his head. I'm guessing he's a thinking type person vs. you, a feeling person. This isn't bad, it's Myers Briggs. Beyond that, people don't all fall in love at the same time.

I think leave it for about a year. My previous gf tried to push me into a relationship in just 3 months....I hardly knew her...and it didint work out. If ur looking for a long lasting relationship, its worth the wait

It takes as long as it takes. It could be three months or three years. Obviously, he's trying to make sure he won't be wasting time with you. Good for him. He has a good head on his shoulders, sounds like a "keeper," if it works out for the two of you.
Good luck.
