i of course not saying that Americans are not important but if u for example have : 12 waiters , 2 cooks , 2 dish washers and the 2 cooks and the 2 dish washers are undocumented and had been working for long at that restaurant ( like most undocumented workers usually do )it is obvious that those 4 workers are essencial for that restaurant and in many cases they may be the only ones able to train anyone who may want to work at those possitions . this esenary repeats in many places from the east to west of America .

now think about the impact this would have in your food , do u want to eat bad food ???

how many Americans would lose their jobs as waiters or as waitresses ???
how many restaurants would close ???

if u think there would be a re-adjustment think in what would this waiters and waitresses would come back to do instead of what they used to do after the adjustment , many would not comeback to be waiters or waitresses would they ???

I used to work in a restaurant...

There used to be 4 waiters( American) and 3 undocumented waiters..

In the Kitchen, 2 cooks were undocumented and one was Legal...

I also worked in the kitchen , (i'm an American) and the other dishwasher was undocumented also...

We ALL worked with each other perfectly...

It's like we all knew each other completely,

WE knew what we all meant and everything was done fast and correctly....

My Spanish got better and their English also got better....

Good times in my old part-time job..

Why should there be a problem if undocumented workers want to work for this economy? if they want to work-hard and make a living, let them stay... there shouldn't be a problem...

You are sooooo wrong!!My wife is an Executive Chef.It only took six years of experience,2 and 1/2 years of college, and certification by the State of Ill. in sanitation,to attain her position.A good person on the wait staff can make 75 to 100 bucks a night in tips alone. They must be clean, articulate and speak fluent ENGLISH in order to accomplish this. No,this isn't a "fast food" or a franchise (Denny's,Country Kitchen ET AL) but it debunks all the false assumptions you have made in your tirade in favor of breaking the Nation's laws.Send the illegals home!Give the jobs to tax paying Americans!!

Well, you have to look at this issue of undocumented workers' in terms of practicality and also in terms of legality. Sure, undocumented workers provide much to the economy and framework of the U.S. but surely they aren't here legaly and consequently use resources without paying taxes.

If it were up to me, all the undocumented immigrants in the U.S. should have to register with the state, so they can be law-abiding citizens like everyone else. I definitely don't believe in just deporting them because of the reality of poverty in countries like Mexico, but I do believe they should abide by American laws if they wish to reside in America.

Letting illegal workers continue to stay in this country undermines our foundation. They should be deported and the restaurant closed. Permitting lawbreakers to insult the people that came here legally by letting them continue to work is wriong.
Whats next letting felons be police officers because they will work cheaper??

I don't have to go to restaurants to survive - in fact I rarely go. I have plenty of guns to take out as many critters as I need to eat so I don't care. And if a restaurant closes because they have been dependent on cheap, illegal labor, it would serve them right!

I disagree with you 100%! There are legal immigrants, students, and other citizens of the USA who will step into those jobs when the business owners are forced to offer decent wages. Illegal immigrants only depress wages for legal citizens. Food will not be "bad" without illegals - in fact, we are more likely to get diseases such as TB because of the undocumented illegal immigrants working in areas dealing with our food. I, for one, prefer to NOT have food that has been handled in any way by illegal immigrants who have not been screened for communicable diseases.

Your story typlifies what many of us believe. W.e.tbacks are indeed taking jobs ordinary citizens do. It doesnt stop there. No illegal in any restaurant is essential to it's function. Any manager that hires such is a weak one.

Believe me we would continue to eat! We ate in restaurants before the invasion of illegal aliens.and we will continue to eat in safe and clean food establishments if one wonderful day we woke up to an america without mexican aliens. What are you thinking?

I myself, work in a resteraunt and I think they're the reason why resteraunts pay such crappy wages. I am not predujuice, I just can't see the point in giving jobs to non- citizens when there aren't enough for legitamate citizens.
