I'm in the West Virginia Army National Guard. I have a lot of friends down on the border patrol mission right now. I have seen a lot of comments from people, especially on here, stating that the Minuteman on the border were a bunch of racists. How can that be? They are only doing their job, and following orders. Simply put, they are stopping people from illegally coming across the border. How can that be racist?

Thanks to GoKart for clarifying the "Minutemen". The National Guard is often referred to as the Minutemen. But this is a totally different group of people. See their story here: http://www.minutemanproject.com/

The Minutemen are a volunteer group that donate their time and money to helping the US Border Patrol and raising public awareness of the illegal immigration problem. The national guard
isn't the same as the Minutemen.
No matter who is doing it, though, anyone that's concerned about where the country's headed should be trying to read and learn more about illegal immigration. This trend is big enough to call it a 'megatrend', one that has the potential to permanently reshape our country, and if you read the news, a lot of it related to illegal immigration is pretty negative. Lots of crime, problems being caused by illegals/their supporters, it's not just some guy trying to get a part-time job cleaning up trash or picking berries, this is something else.

In ANY group of a size as large as the Minutemen, or the National Guard, or the US Border Patrol, you will find ALL kinds. Some of them will be very fair, very intelligent, very law-abiding men and women. But some of them will be racist, corrupt, amoral deviants. That's because all groups will show differences that can be charted on a bell curve Just hope you never have to deal with them.

Only a small or uninformed mind would use the "racist card" here. They are law enforcement officers doing just that.Enforcing the laws of the Nation. As for the Minute Men(and women),they have been applauded by the Border Patrol for they're help not only with illegal immigrants, but also helping to stop the importation of illegal drugs into the U.S.

On this forum, ANYONE who wants the laws enforced is considered a racist. The morons who play the brown card use that word when it has no merit.
People who have an IQ over 50 KNOW that they are not racist. They are doing a job that needs to be done.

Crying Racism is a tool of the left.
The ILLEGAL ALIENS want more power, so they cry racism.
Many leftists, including Democrats want more ILLEGAL ALIENS over here for the cheap votes.
The border patrol and the Minutemen are doing their jobs.
The Minutemen are doing what are government refuses to do. Bush and many Repubs want the cheap labor. Again the left wants cheap votes. Most Americans want a fence and a secure border. These politicians are not doing their jobs, and we need to demand they listen to us. We need to vote them out!

It's just the same as if I called you an asshole. It's a person's opinion. If they're doing their job, I don't see how someone calling them racist makes a difference.
