Bunt..
It is the president that is charged with the control of our borders
and NO president in the past 50 yrs has made any reasonable effort to live up to this constitutional obligation ...
Why ?
Because the US & Mexican governments , possibly at the presidential level, have what amounts to a gentlemens agreement that the US will not seal the southern border...
The money sent back to Mexico by illegal aliens and the removal of these otherwise umployed mexicans from the Mexican economy is what is keeping mexico from collapsing both politically and economically....

The most fair way to solve the immigration issue, is legalizing a certain number of illegal immigrants of each country. e.g.: 10,000 Polish, 10,000 Argentinians, 10,000 Philippians, 10,000 Slovenians, 10,000 Salvadoreans, 10,000 Mexicans etc, etc, etc.
It would be absolutely unfair to legalize 5,000,000 of Mexicans and 100.000 aliens from the rest of the world.

WASHINGTON BUREAU/Sept. 4, 2006
Lawmakers and advocacy groups on both sides of the immigration debate are expressing what appears to be a widening consensus that President Bush's top domestic priority -- his proposed immigration policy overhaul -- is likely dead for the year.

They will avoid the issue with the exception of a few. I will vote against anyone who will not commit to deportation.
