Is it dangerous to my health? Is it addictive? Or is it safer than alcohol as my friend says?

It is safer than alcohol, but it has it's own risks. Many people who use pot for extended periods of time can suffer from memory loss, not to mention smoking (unfiltered) - which is bad for the lungs. Other side effects could be weight gain from having the munchies, sleepiness, or fogginess.

It has long term effects. Not many short term effects. Thats why people think it is safe. It affects a lot of the parts of your brian. Messes of your memory. A bunch of other stuff. I'm sure almost everyone has smoked weed as an teenager. Anyone that has smoked before can tell you that after a while it takes more to get you high. Thats why they say weed is the gateway drug. Just be careful not to get so into it. Soon you may start doing cocaine, crystal meth, even crack! all because you just want to be high. I don't think its addictive as far as the weed but you will get addicted to that "cool sensation" that you get. Being high clears you mind and many people like that. While high you never really know what you just like being drunk. Like the person above wrote don't get into drugs because most jobs (even fast food in some places) make you take drug tests. Just think about this "You go into the hospital one night with your three year old son...he is very sick...you think he is in good hands but the doctor is high...your son ends of dying...not only because the doctor was high but because you were driving while high and hit a tree." Best advice I can offer is stop and talk to your friend about stopping.

Would you be willing to listen to an opinion that might seam a bit off tract from your question.

Is it dangerous to your health? That will depend on how much and for how long you use it.

Is it addictive? Very definitely, yes. Not as much for the THC that is the active ingrediant that gets you high as it is the high itself that become addictive.

Or is it safer than alcohol as my friend says? I can have an occasional cocktail or beer and suffer absolutely no bad effects. I can down a bottle of vodka and get behind the wheel of a car and wreck ruin on my life as well as many innocent people. If you are likely to do the latter, then yes, liquor is worse. However...

Liquor found in moderate amounts in your blood will not keep you from getting the job you always wanted.

If you are sitting around with friends drinking a beer and someone asks you to go get the pretzells from the kitchen, it is unlikely you will walk into the kitchen and go totally blank as to why you are there.

There are totally legitimate reasons for drug use. Recreation is not one of them. Don't be drawn in to it. The negative effects will far outweigh the possitive. Just check out the losers that are trying to get you to use it.

Anytime you lose control of your thought processes you are in danger. Some people will lead you to believe that you never hear of a pot smoker having a wreck and killing someone but that's not true. A smoker's ability to drive a vehicle is just as impaired as a drunk person. It's just harder for police to do tests for marijuana in your system but not impossible. If you can't pass sobriety tests but still pass a breathalyzer test they can still charge you with driving under the influence of a controlled substance. As far as the physical and mental implications, the repeated use of marijuana can lead to long term memory loss and lung disease. It is a controlled substance for a reason. It can also cause you to lose or be unable to find a job. It lowers your self esteem. You shouldn't be using things that you have absolutely no need for. They call it a recreational drug. I say there are other more healthy and even more fun things to do for recreation. It isn't physically addictive but you can still become codependent on it and need it to get you through the day emotionally. For people who are codependent they use it as an escape from reality because due to using marijuana they have lost their ability to cope without it. So it's best to avoid the use of any drugs at all whether it's marijuana, cocaine, alcohol, and etc. They are all used for the purpose of escaping reality. Good Luck!

It is considered a gateway drug. People that are interested in getting high usually go for something stronger when marijuana no longer gives them the charge they are looking for.

There was a study comparing alcohol and marijuana. The test group would take an IQ test before they took the alcohol or marijuana, during and after. The group that took alcohol showed a marked decrease in IQ while they were drinking alcohol, but they scored the same as they did before taking alcohol 24 hours after the test. The group that smoked pot showed a marked decrease on the IQ test while they were smoking the joint. It took 3 days for their IQ to come back to normal levels after quiting.

Marijuana effects your judgment, just like alcohol. And the person using it does not realize how much his judgment has been effected.

Your friend says it is safer than alcohol. Your friends judgment has been impaired. He is asking you to do something illegal.

If you want to make more than minimum wadge, you will have to piss in a cup. Having drugs in your system will deny you that opportunity.

Smoking anything is bad for your health..Marijuana is bad for your lungs, because of all the residue.. most long term smokers have a hack.. It is safer than alcohol in my opinion, but it has been known to cause severe depression..Smoking also makes you appear dopey to other people, it affects your memory something fierce too.... and you are never as funny as you think you are.. believe me. It's not addictive like heroin is addictive, but I know lots of people who can't or won't get thru the day without it.. and that sounds like addiction to me.

nothing ever happens by smoking marijuana once or twice but the fact is that it is harmfull to your health and marijuana can be addicting. In the long term it will make you stupid, and make you lose memory, it can also give you lung problems. and no it is not safer then alcohol, because alcohol is recycled out of your system as soon as your not drunk anymore, marijuana stays in your system for 1 month after the last smoke. But misuse of alcohol can lead to serious problems as well, such as cirosis.

To tell you the truth none of them are really safe but if you must then use an energy drink that has the least amount of caffine and is not a dietary supplement. If you want to go out of the ballpark and go to a complete different subject try mixing some gatorade or powerade with some vodka. DIFFERENT flavors and taste good

Enjoy it. It's only illegal to serve certain large corporations and peoples monetary interests, not because it's dangerous. The alcohol related deaths outnumber the marijuana related deaths by over 1000 to 1.

Yes it is dangerous and it is addictive and it can be harmful. It is no safer than any other drug. You can end up with drug psychosis, and paranoia and there is no coming back. Don't do drugs if you care about yourself in anyway.
