I do sometimes. Occasionally I wish there were someway for more people to live kind of like the Amish, only without having to join the Amish church. But the grass is always greener . . . the Amish have problems and people who lived in past "simpler" times also had a lot of problems too. While society is so fast paced these days there are positives to it - medical technology, more opportunities for education, the internet :-)

I don't wish a life simpler than what I have now.
I'm happy and satisfied with my life. I have peace of mind and soul. I'm not afraid of anyone other that my God. I don't look at people based on their color, religion or positions. They are all my brothers and sisters. Yes I may differ with them in my view or belief or anything else. But this doesn't cause any problem or tension on my mind, because my God has taught me the right path which suits my soul & body as a human being and he taught me to be patient. He has promised a great reward for being patient. Being patient helps me to overcome all the obstacles in my life. I don't care if I loose a job or money or a beloved one. I'm promissed better that these in life hereafter. Therefore, I'm happy and I don't care about what others say about my religion. I just try to tell them the truth, but if he still insists to close his eyes and ears then I leave him alone. After all each one is to his own sin in my religion and there is no compulsion in my religion. Allah is rich in himself and he is capable of keeping Islam in the highest position. He doesn't need me to protect his religion, if he wishes anything he just says BE! And it is been.

1 Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
2 Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
3 He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
4 And there is none like unto Him.

Yes, I constantly think about getting away from it all and moving out of the city.Once I ever do though it would be hard to leave all the modern conveniences behind that,, ironically make life more fast paced and hectic

Yes. It doesn't just happen. I think it's a matter of making decisions, and being able to say no...which I know is easier said than done! I'm terrible at saying no! There are always lots of worthwhile things we can say yes to.
It's hard to simplify and slow down... but it's never too late to make some small decisions each day to slow down, to be mindful and present in the moment.

Yes. Sometimes I think the Amish have the right idea. They sure don't have to worry about gas prices, or paying their phone/electric/cable bills!
But then I get on the computer, pop in a dvd, make some microwave popcorn, and I'm glad I'm not Amish.
It would be nice to have enough money to not worry about the bills though.

Sure, but the life of a Christian is always being challenged. So as long as we serve Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, then the devil will keep trying to steal that joy and peace. Thank the Lord that I serve a God that can grant us the Peace which passes all understanding...

I do. But I'm the one that complicates my life, not anybody or anything else. I run myself ragged trying to be there for everybody and everything else that I forget all about myself. And when I do want to focus on myself a bit, I'm called selfish. Gee, explain that one to me.
