depression and lust do not come from God...he sets people free from those things not gives them to them....you are confused that is the work of the enemy in your life....pray and seek God and don't stop until you are free.....I suffered from depression for years and the Lord as I prayed and sought Him as set me free.....some deliverance's come quickly and some have to be walked out....trust God and watch out for the deception of the enemy...you know like the deception of making you think God did this to you .....

First of all stop and listen well please. God sent Jesus who died for our sins and rose again to remove all that crap off of our lives. Especially yours. I'm not saying He died more for you then He did me. No He died once and for ALL. For all of us equally. I heard you say that you're a Christian or at least a believer. Read the verse in Romans chapter 8. It says there is therefore now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus and who do the will of the Father, walking not in the flesh but living in the spirit. Paraphrazed of course. That means that once you have repented and sin no more the devil, the demons of depression, oppression, doubt, suicide, lust, pornography, masturbation, etc., yes these are demons by name, here, and even satan himself cannot accuse you of the sin because when you repent it's as if God takes a huge eraser and wipes the slate clean. It's as if you never sinned. Ask God to clear your conscence. Because we can accuse ourselves worse then the devil can. Some times and this is my current situation the devil stops accusing us and reminding us of past sins because we're doing a better job of self destruction there then he is. Why? Good question. I think it's because we loose site of Christ and the truth. So get up out of your rut. Follow Christ. Read the Word and live in it. The Truth has set you free now go and be FREE. Amen. Good luck my brother or sister in Christ.

I wish I knew how to say this to you. I'm so afraid it's going to sound like a cliche. But it's so much the truth. If you repent of these sins, and confess them to God, and accept Jesus Christ as your savior, you will be forgiven of them all. Another thing will happen. You will have the power of God, who created all things, "on your side" to tackle, and overcome, your depression and your fleshly, lustful desires. The bible tells us that when we accept Jesus, we become born again. We are no longer the old person, we become a new creation. And God wants to give you the strength to overcome these things that have been keeping you in sin and depression. We are "more than conquerors" through Jesus Christ.
This doesn't mean it will happen overnight, and it doesn't mean it will be easy. It does mean that you will have the power of God behind you, and the transforming power of Jesus Christ within you.

I have an anxiety disorder, depression, some obsessive/compulsive symptoms and an eating disorder. I do not blame God for giving me any of them. I take medication for the first three and suffer less, pray and go to meetings to try to control my eating disorder.
Your depression can be treated with medication and your lust problem (sex addiction?) can be controlled by going to meetings and prayer. Stop blaming God and start doing everything you can to lead a happy, healthy life. You can overcome your challenges just as I have mine. God bless.

Hey, Don't be worry, the fact that your still alive and acknowledge GOD in you life is more than enough. You,ve said it yourself that you already gotten through a tough depression and that believe it or not is a blessing in itself, God has already given all us the tools to survive and be prosperous in life and in most case your faith in HIM carries you through. Eventually the things your going through will seems so "kindergarden" that you wont even remember most of it.

We will have the answer to that when we get to Heaven. Your Depression is not a punishment from God for sins you have committed. I too, have chronic Major Depression and it is Hell on earth. I although, trying to live a good life, have commited many sins, but so did Jesus Apostles.
I am so glad you asked this question. Like many people, I am harder on myself than on others. By reading your question and thinking about how to answer, I am able to see myself more clearly. I hope you are under the care of a psychiatrist and are taking anti-depressant medication. Also, to defeat this depression there are things we need to do.
We have to set goals and make plans to be social with others, take responsibility for getting our needs met, take care of our need for physical, social, and recreational needs. We need to become aware of our self talk and recognize unhealthy thought patterns. Then we need to work on actively changing our self talk to patterns that are both positive and realistic,
The real solution to lust problems for those of us who are single and lonely, is to work on our romantic relationships with the opposite sex. As Bible believing Christians we need to find and develope a romantic relationship that leads to marriage. A person who is dying of thirst, can only think about water. A person who is starving, can only think of food.
If you are Catholic and go to Confession, God will forgive your sins. If you are a Protestant, the Bible says, "that if we confess our sins then God is rightious and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrightiousness".
Jesus on the Cross is the answer to the question, "Why me?". Jesus commited no sin and was the Son of God yet He had untold sufferings during His life on earth in the flesh. The Apostle Paul says, "that the sufferings of Jesus overflow into our lives".
Jesus did not promise us a happy life on earth if we tried as hard as we could to follow His teachings as recorded in the Bible. He said if we did what He told us to do, then, "Great will our reward be in Heaven".
I believe that with God's help, both you and I can become happy again and that we can be of help to others who are depressed, because no one knows what depression is like unless they have been through it.

The Bible says that God will punish all murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, adulterers, etc. He will even judge our words and thoughts. On Judgment Day, will you be found to be guilty or innocent of breaking His commandments?
Perhaps you think that God is good, and will therefore overlook your sins. But it is His goodness that will make sure that murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, etc. receive justice. He would be a corrupt Judge if He turned a blind eye to injustice. Have you kept the Commandments?
God Himself made a way where His justice and His goodness could meet. We broke the Law, but He became a man to pay the fine. Jesus suffered and died on the cross to satisfy the Law. God can forgive us and grant us the gift of everlasting life! But you may still think that you can (from now on) keep the Ten Commandments. But isn't it true that the best of us have lied, stolen, lusted, hated, failed to love God above all else, and failed to love our neighbor as ourselves?
How can we then, live a "good" life if we have already sinned against God? At best we are reformed liars and thieves . . . but still Lawbreakers. Think of it this way - would you sell one of your eyes for a million dollars? Would you sell both for $50 million? I'm sure you wouldn't. Your eyes are priceless, yet they are merely the windows of your soul. What then must your life (soul) be worth? With these thoughts in mind, what would be a fair price to pay for everlasting life? It is utterly without price. Yet, if we trust in our own goodness to enter Heaven, we are saying to God, "I should enter Heaven because I have done good - I have earned my way in."
Imagine if you wanted to give me a brand new (very expensive) car, but I said, "I can't take it! I feel embarrassed receiving such a gift . . . here's 10 cents for it." I'm sure you would be very insulted by such a pathetic offer of payment. Besides, if I pay for it, it is no longer a gift, it's a purchase . . . it's mine by right.
When we talk of entering Heaven by being good, by trying to keep the Ten Commandments etc., we are tossing God 10 cents of "self-righteousness," which is a terrible insult to Him, in the light of His sacrifice. The only thing we can do is humble ourselves, repent of our sins, and receive the gift by trusting Jesus Christ alone. Almighty God demonstrated how much He loves you when Jesus suffered for you on the cross. If you want to trust in your own goodness, then you are saying His agonizing death on the cross was in vain. The Bible says, "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." You cannot earn a gift.

If, in truth, you have tried to overcome your problem(s)..
and you have failed... and tried again, and failed again...
you are to be commended for trying....
but, if you believe there is a God, why did you not turn to
Him for help before now?
God is not the cause of your problem(s)...He is the solution.
But only if you have faith...which might have prevented some
of your problems to start with. Don't ask to understand why things happen...ask only for the strength to accept and the
faith to believe. Only God can do what we cannot do.
And only God can give you the faith you need to believe..
Problems lead us back to God, when we forget Him for a time. He is waiting for you to ask... stop waiting for Him.
I will ask also. Don't be surprised when you feel Him
standing behind you..waiting to help....again.

Okay, first of all if you are serious think about this.... you have sinned against a Holy JUST God. You say you try to do good things.. but the good DOESN'T outweigh the bad with God... God is JUST!!! Think if your mother was raped and killed would you want JUSTICE? Or should the judge just overlook this persons crime because they apologize and now help old ladies across the street?? You WANT JUSTICE. God is a perfect Judge that WILL judge sin.
You have admitted to lust... Jesus says in Matthew 5 28 " But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."
I am sure you have lied too, and even stolen.... The Bible says that it is appointed unto man nce to die and after this the judgment.... you MUST stand before a Holy Just Almighty God as a Lying, theiving adulterer at heart (by your own admission)... God will hold you guilty.
The Bible says that no liar will inherit the kingdom of heaven, sin cannot exist in heaven, you will go to hell. You love your sin. And God will judge you.
The Bible also says that while we were YET SINNERS, Christ died FOR us.
It also says the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Notice that salvation is a GIFT? It is free, not what all these religions try to say about working for your salvation... it is against the Bible, look in Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
NOT OF WORKS... but of FAITH!
Jesus said REPENT, or ye shall all likewise perish. He told the woman caught in adultery to SIN NO MORE.
Repentance is turning FROM sin TO Jesus Christ having a change of mind.
How? the Bible says, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
DIDn'T say MIGHT be saved or could be... but SHALL be saved, John wrote , These things I write unto you that you may KNOW that you have eternal life!!!!
Get on your knees, and ask God to forgive you... then go and sin no more!!!
God will help you get the victory over your lust, and your depression.
If you want to talk more email me....

God would never put you through something that you were not stron enough to handle.
And thank you, I needed to be reminded of that myself, I'm going through a whole lot right now. In just one lightening storm a few weeks ago I lost (material things) my TV, DVD/VCR, telephone, stereo and had already lost my refridgerator a month earlier.
God Bless You!!!
