About monsoonday
With influences from Nine Inch Nails to Bjork, MONSOON DAY live for earth-moving music and mind-echoing melodies. Their music pulses with bold cutting vocals, dark electronica, spacey electric guitars and razor sharp electro-acoustic beats. Award winning producers Nuradee (their album Tekad sold 365,000 copies throughout Asia) have touted MONSOON DAY as inventive and hair-standing, and the band have already had airplay on radio stations in Singapore. This is an exciting time for the band since they are putting together their first album, THE BIG BANG. They are also working with well known music consultants in the US to bring their music to a world wide audience. They are also targeting to play at the Edinburgh Festival in summer 2007, as well as other festivals in the UK such as the International Music Festival, Bath, UK. Their aim is of course to go on tour with their own BIG BANG show to compliment their awesome musical dimension. All the members of the band picked up their respective instruments at a young age. Nash (guitars) used to play guitar for the Malay Orchestra, but his musical interests were more in the region of Red Hot Chili Peppers than classical Malay. Yusof (bass) gigged for years in a heavy metal band, although he had a passion for the experimental sound of Bjork. Patrick (vocals, keys, songwriting, and production) used to play keys in world music band Sutra Asia at venues like Hard Rock Caf, but he wanted to get out from behind the keyboards and sing his bloody heart out. Nash wanted rock, Yusof wanted experimental and Patrick wanted the world.
