For instance, if the government imposed it on it's citizens....would it make you happier? Do you think that is the way a person should come to find their faith, or should the journey be personal?

Absolutely not. I think that is why we are each given our own sense of being, to think for ourselves and to make our own choices. Granted, we may not always make the right decisions in life but that is what life is all about is to live and to learn. We simply cannot exist in a world where everything is predetermined for us, it is like not making a baby learn to walk or eat for themselves when they could very well do fine on their own. If we don't teach them to eat, they simply become dependant on someone else or worse, starve. As parents, we know we could protect them better by carrying them around all the time but we also know how much we would hinder their life. So, we let them go hoping they will not fall. They may fall but they will get back up and eventually get it. They know now to be more careful the next time. We all need to respect each other's decisions in life and the fact we are so fortunate to be able to make these decisions for ourselves. Besides, wouldn't this be such a boring drab world if everyone were alike in our beliefs, choices, tastes, etc.?

As a Catholic, I'd say yes it would be wonderful if everyone were Catholic. But having the govt impose it on everyone? Not only would it be really wrong, it would also be counter-effective. One of the easiest ways to make a society hate a particular religion is to mandate that religion through the government. People, especially Americans, hate being told what to do and will often do the opposite simply to spite authority.

No. I believe in religious tolerance. This is the Chinese way and the Buddhist way. There's never been religious persecution in China's long history. Political suppression of all religions manifested from communist doctrines.
Buddhism is the only world religion that have never raised a war. I dislike religious zealots of any faith (islamic jihadists, Christian missionaries, etc). They cause wars and great suffering.
I am always interested in learning about other religions because finding faith and your identity is a very personal journey.

One of the central tenets of my own faith is that everyone has their own path to the Divine, and our task in this life is to find it and follow it. So no, I wouldn't be happy at all if everyone followed my path, because then they wouldn't be following their own.

As for the government imposing it on the citizens - there's a dam good reason why the First Amendment was written. State religions tend to cause one heck of a lot of trouble and strife, more so than free religion.

I wouldn't feel better. Compulsory religion doesn't lead to a strong faith. Every person makes their own journey, and as has been said many times, there are many paths up the same mountain. The way that is best for me, may not be for someone else, the truths that resonate for me, may not for someone else.

Now 25 millions of Russian population are muslims( including mine convert)
This should be personal

No, I wouldn't feel better. Christianity is a choice. In fact I already think that Christianity is way to much of a social institution insted of a religion and think that's why there's lots of people who claim to be Christians but have no idea - like Britney Spears.

I am a Christian, and one has to choose who they believe Jesus Christ to be. This cannot be imposed on anyone. God wouldn't have it any other way, so why would I want it any other way? I respect the right of each person to decide for themselves.

That's a pretty tricky q.I know I couldn't believe they way someone else believes simply to make someone feel better.I know what the Bible says, and I wouldn't want to go in a different path of that! Also religion in most ways is like church.Church is just a place to worship God,well religion is just a way of saying how you feel about God!This is just how I personally feel!
