For me it was because I was alone and not doing anything and that is when I did most of my using. I know that for me keeping myself busy helped a lot but most people aren't as busy at night. Idle time can be very dangerous time. Try and stay around people who understand and have been there before. Treatment is never a bad idea.

Its most likely not worse in the night, its just seems that way. Everything is worse in the night for some reason. Nights are long, colder, dark, and quiet.

I guess during the day you have enough things to distract you and people to hang around but during the night all you have is the adiction and the lonliness. I guess it would help if you are with someone but mostly at night our defences are down, we are tired from fighting everything during the day and when you unwind and relax, things you try to supress come up.

Sunlight triggers the production of serotonin which helps prevent depression. At night, that substance decreases in your bloodstream, causing a type of depression.

night is when your body is shutting down to heal itself. when something has been eliminated from your system, when your body is at its most relaxed is when you will feel the difference the most.
try meditating before going to bed, readjust your routine to insure a better nights sleep. the better you rest, the quicker your body will heal itself.

Because that's the "nelly" in your head talks the loudest and the fastest. Nelly is hard to calm down, but you can try affirmations.

because there is nothing else occupying your mind. For some I'd imagine because this is when the body is used to getting it's usual dose and now it has to get used to not receiving it.
