Rinse with mouthwash, holding it in your mouth as long as possible. Do this every half hour, it kills the germs which is what is causing the pain.

See a dentist. If you have an infection, and it sounds like you do, you might need antibiotics, and she can give you painkillers.

Nothing will stop the pain for good except antibiotics and dental work.

Becareful...i nearly OD on a codeine based painkiller, cause they just wasn't working!! Toothaches are the worst...just had a tooth pulled out yesterday! If u have pain, the nerve is exposed, proberly due to a whopping big hole!! Best to get it fixed as asap, because what could've been a cheap easy job...will end up being nasty and expensive!! Not only will your pain go, your breath will be fresher, and sinus problems will ease!!

Try a dentist, and some novacain.
Or some string and a door handle. Tie the string to the door handle and the other end to the tooth, then slam the door and watch the tooth come flying out. That shoud take care of the toothache.

Apply a gentle cold compress to your face in the area that is closest to the affected tooth. Before hand you want to wash your mouth out with an antiseptic. Salt water is good, so is hydrogen peroxide. Pain is caused from infection or exposed nerve. Rinse several times and repeat cold compress. I highly recommend calling a dentist first thing in the morning inform him/her of pain (or any other symptoms) and ask if they can call a prescription into the pharmacy for antibiotics.

Fear not, breathe deep and try to relaxe.

Until you can see a dentist rum and tea. When I was a kid one of my teeth was absessing, my mom gave me tea with rum mixed in and it killed the pain because painkillers would not. Also try running cold water over the palm of the hand on the same side as the tooth pain and see if that helps. But by all means see a dentist!

Clove oil if you can handle it, like everyone here is saying. Try resting up a little but do something slightly stimulating. I try reading and such like but it only makes it worse. Play some video games or redecorate something. It might sound like I am a nerd or a granny, but it really does help. Get adaquate sleep and stay away from really hot or cold things and eat really healthy because if you don't eat well you will start to feel like sh*t and the pain will get worse.

# Buy a bottle of clove oil in a pharmacy and dab it on the tooth and gum as necessary.

# Use some good Irish whiskey or Scotch to numb the area until you can get to a dentist.

# Try some Ambesol
