In my opinion the U.S. has the stongest military in the world. Call me bias for serving in the Army but I feel we do. After the U.S. who do you think has the stongest military?

China is an 'economic' power and Europe likes to think it has a monopoly on human rights, but the superpower needs to combine the right amount of power with the most pervasive ideology and best public relations. The USSR had that for a while, but their lack of freedom demolished it. In the Muslim World " Pakistan" is a Super-Super Power. You will SEE.

The winner in history is not always the strongest Army. That is the problem in Iraq and in Vietnam in the 60's and 70's. America has the strongest Military without a doubt, but how you use the Army, or do not us the Army, an Army is also part of the equation.
America's Armies are being misused again in the 21st Century.
The fact is that America did not learn from the mistake of Vietnam. We fought a irregular army of what we considered peasants, and threw over a million troops at Vietnam which had a population of Thirteen million people. The United States also killed over a million Vietnamese and over 3 million died in the Vietnam war.
And here we are again, punching at bare rabbit and getting nothing but hurt, over extended and pitifully stuck in Iraq.
And why, in one word, arrogance!

Some of you are confusing strongest with largest. China maybe the largest but right now I'd have to say Israel. They haven't lost a war since they were created in 1945. And the French....didn't they win a war some time back in the 1780's?

i think that americans may have alot of people in the military there - but i have a husband in the austrlian army and i have seen footage of the americans being sadistic in the way they torture prisionor of war its sik, and the way american drive around in the war torn countries and atleast australians actually help people and walk around and give the children chocolate and talk to the people and dont act like they own the place. the americans may have alot of people in the war but they're just let in so easily in australia u have to be trained so hard to get in so idiots like the americans arent defending our country. and i think its stupid that australians are alwasy backing the americans up yous think you are so good but y does your president always need our help?

The russians do, they have the largest country in the world so they would probably be next in line, remember in WWII? They destroyed most of the country that took over most of europe, Germany.

China, due to the amount of people they have. We have the best equip., but when you send 10 US Special Forces against 1000 Chinese foot soldiers, it just doesn't add up too well for us.
