I would never let a 12 year old watch 5 kids.
Never in my life.

I used to babysit when I was 12-13, but definetely get at least 2 sitters, that is alot of kids. Pay like 20$ an hour, 4-5$ per child.

As several others have said, five kids is a lot for a twelve-year-old. That being said, the going rate for babysitting in my neighborhood is about $8 per hour per child. That would be $40 per hour. Most babysitterrs around here add a surcharge for over 2 kids, so I'd say about $50 per hour, especially given that at least one will need to have its diaper changed and feeding from a bottle etc.

A 12 year old should not be babysitting 5 kids and certainly not a 3 month old.

I would not let a 12 year old watch 5 kids-especially a 3 month old baby. You need someone more mature that can drive and has a car.

a 12 year old has no business watching kids especially not 5 or one that is only 3 mos old 12 yr olds are barely responsible enough to take care of themselves and child protective services would take those kids in the blink of an eye if left with a 12 yr old that is child endangerment plain and simple find a more mature sitter if you care for your kids

I wouldn't leave a 12-year-old alone with 5 kids. I don't think I would leave anyone alone with 5 kids, but especially not someone who is 12. Even if the babysitter had friends who could help.

I wouldnt let a 12 yr old do that job, its too much for them. As for how much, it depends on how long youre gone. If it were me, Id pay 3-5 dollars per kid per hour. Its 2006 and thats a big job for even an adult. 5 kids? whew!!

I would never let a 12 y/o babysit more than one child at a time, if at all. Especially one as young as 3 mos.

That's nuts. A 12 year old cant handle 5 kids and I can't imagine it's legal.

My mother wouldn't have left me alone at the age of 12 never mind with five other younger kids to look after! I think it's a crazy idea and you shouldn't even be considering it.
