it depends... but at this point in my life, i would say 5 (i'm 21).

I think 6 is too much because the person you date will be able to do so many more things than you... including drinking, going to clubs, etc.... the age difference will cause difficulties i think because of the different mindset you're in. For instance, you're probably thinking about senior prom and he'll be thinking about school and/or work, and his next rent payment. Go out with someone closer to you in age.

6 years age difference can be a big age difference depending on what age range we are talking about.

For example: If the girl is 12 and the guy is 18 - no so good. If the girl or boy is 16 and the other person is in their 20's well its just common sense. But once you are 18 and older then age doesn't really matter anymore. It is only a state of mind because you are dealing with adults.

I knew a 65 year old man that was married to a 25 yr old woman. That was no problem. It's when the ages are illegal when it's bad, like a 27 year old man dating a 15 yr old girl. Watch yourself.

I would try to keep with someone who is no more than two years older than myself at your age. The older you get you can add a little more distance, but I would never go for someone more than five years older than me, or there will be too large a gap to fill.

If you are 16 dear, you should be dating someone who is underage or risk having them jailed........Some parents (myself included) don't think that underage girls have the sexual experience that, say, a twenty year old man does........

no thats not to much of an age difference now if your parent would have a huge problem with it i would really try and hide that from them if you dont want to lose your man....
