Your software may have been unable to sort out the problem. For example, two days ago I had a trojan in the form of a .dll file. My anti-virus was not able to do anything because the file was in use and could not be edited/deleted. Try running a virus scan in safe mode. If that doesn't work, try a Google search on the specific virus, and you should be able to find a method of dealing with it.

antivirus cant allways get it
a virus sometimes attach themselves to your system restore
go to start /control panel/ system/ now hit the system restore tab
and in there you can turn it off this will delete any restore points but if you dont use it it dosent matter and it can be switched back on.

it might be the anti virus is not working properly. Uninstall it, then download a new one. After that, install it again.
