I belive you are referring to the Catholic Church problem. The reason why these priests are getting off (no pun intended, but there it is, unfortunately) is for two reasons, both of which lie in the fear that governments have of the Vatican. Either the victims, or others are paid huge sums of money (bribed) not to press charges, OR, the governmental bodies and agencies are AFRAID of Vatican reprisals (in the form of murder). Just so you know, the Vatican is the mother of the Mafia, and has Jesuit agents in every country. The Vatican has hitmen everywhere. John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln, was a papal agent. He eluded capture for a full year - he was being harbored in Rome. I believe the government higher-ups are all -too -aware of this, and succumb to their fears of confronting and prosecuting any agent of the Vatican. This is unfortuate. But it is a clear forerunner of an event about to happen. The Vatican is MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. (Rev. 17:5). The antichrist and false prophet will assuredly come from this evil institution. Revelation chapters 17 and 18 thoroughly describe the Roman Catholic Church's role on this planet and her ill but well-deserved fate when God's wrath falls on her.

Last time I looked, ministers were civilians, too, and should be treated no different than any other citizen.

I always liked Kris Kristoferson's line in "The Tracker," an old (90's vintage) western. When confronting the villian of the film, a man who had kidnapped a young girl, he said, "you touch a child, all you get is dead!"

Unfortunately, the ministers were usually just shuttled to a different location and protected. We are just finding out the extent of the molestation and although far too late, some are finally getting some punishment. The Catholic Church has a lot to answer for and it certainly lost me in the past few years.

People have a harder time believing the man is a molester if he has a respectable occupation and was liked by the people who knew him. It also makes them have to deal with the fact that you can't just believe what any preacher or "man of God" tells you. Evil is everywhere and we can't put a clear face on it. It freaks people out to think that it's not just the dirty ugly old guys molesting kids, it could be the person they've trusted for years.

actually, most people who molest little children don't get thrown in the slammer either. They get probation, just like the clergy who do. And only then if the abuse can be proven.

What is wrong with this picture?

In the first place, it shouldnt have happened - it is so wrong to do these things

In the 2nd place, God is not partial or unjust - just because a man-made government does not punish the wrong doer, does not mean that he will not have to answer to God.

And, thankfully, God can repair the injury done to the child.

Last I knew, no minister was "getting off" with this horrific crime. There were a lot of victims that kept their mouths shut for decades, which tied the hands of the law. They can't press charges without a victim coming foreward!

I tried to call the police to help a friend that had been raped. Unless she was willing to press charges herself, the police were helpless to arrest the #%$^&*d that had abused her. Her telling me, and me telling them, wasn't enough.

Thats what happened at the church on old zoar road in monroe, ct. A youth pastor was molesting girls in his group. The church was going to get him counseling, so a church member told the police.

Why can O.J. murder his wife and get away with it? Why can Michael Jackson molest children and get away with it? Pretty messed up there too.
