As a Homeopath I have prescribed it often and always found it effective where excessive fat and weight are concerned and Non of the people who used it experienced any side effects or complications of any sort. Its being manufactured by Dr Willmar Schwabe Pharma.Germany. For more information on the product you can check out their website http://www.schwabepharma.com/start/fs_start.html
I guess its just the Pharmaceutical firms who spread bias and mistrust against Natural & Herbal products and perhaps the world is just starting to learn how effective Homeopathy is and are scared of very stiff competition :-)
Those who have used it will tell you how effective and safe it is.
Take care and God Bless !

Hi, I asked my doctor about phytolacca berries a while ago cause I read about so much about it on answers. I'm looking to lose weight quickly for my wedding.
At my last checkup, I took her a print out of a question regarding the Phytolacca Berry's Mother's Tincture and she said she'd do some research on it and call me back. She called me back saying NOT to take it. It has a lot of health risks and she even went as far as to call the pharmacist and herbal stores for me. She said it's made of pokeroot and causes serious health issues...nothing to do with weight loss.
I guess answers are so negative cause it's really bad for a person to take.

My concerns about phytolacca berry is that is also called "pokeroot" and is considered toxic to the liver. Do a google search for "pokeroot toxicity" and find out for yourself. Here is one such link:

Also, phytolacca berry has not been FDA tested or approved (and in some cases, some countries have banned the supplement).

So when you take an herbal supplement you are not only gambling with your money, but your long-term health as well.

There are better ways to lose weight.
