and you just needed to repot to your sceduled classes, which was later. and your friend is doing the same. and your parents approve and say you dont need to go to lunch. and no attendence is taken for lunch. would you just report to your scedule classes. also im a sophmore in high school. just curious on your opinion. by the way its outside. overal would you want to be bored for 80 minutes

The way you explain it. I see no reason for you to go to lunch. I would just use the time for something you want or need to do. And then report to your scheduled class.

As a high school teacher my answer is this: If there is no accountability for checking who is on campus at lunch time with any particular attendance method then go to classes after lunch. If you would have a problem getting on to campus because it was closed at or near the end of lunch time then this could be a problem. When gates are closed you usually need to go through the main entrance and then someone would know that you are not arriving at the time you are supposed to. So it depends on whether you can get on campus at the time classes start. If you can't get on campus at the time you need and you could go to the library instead of the lunch room during lunch, use that time to do your homework.

if you and your parents see a valid reason for skipping an optional lunch, then you can prove it by stating your reasons on paper. this is a test only for yourself. if you cannot find enough reasons to validate missing lunch...here are some reasons to consider attending: connecting to peers, pick up on vibes from classmates, finding out who is what class and when, checking out everybody and changes over the summer before others do, finding out if the cute guy is still with what's-her-name and if you have a shot, making sure you are actually there on time for first class period...and heah, even if you eat a lunch first somewhere else, you can always take this time to talk to your friends about YOU!

why go to school for lunch.?! during those type of half days, i just don't come until after lunch because you could go out and get something and you can sleep in longer. do people actually come for lunch?
