It probably a virus. Try to run scan disk to fix the error first before you run anti-virus programme on your pc

It seems like you are not able to do much at all on your PC when this happens. There are a couple of things you can try. First when you reboot your computer press the F8 key before you get to the windows screen which it seems you know how to do this already because you were able to get into the safe mode prompt. When the screen comes up with options, go to Last Known Good Configuration. That is a good known BIOS snapshot that might get you back up and running. The next step to consider is going into the Start menu of your desktop and go into Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. Using the system restore to go back to a recent time where all was well with your PC almost always works. Hope this will get you back up and running.

windows xp is pretty new so the people working in Microsoft know windows xp has a lot of problems. The best thing i recommend is to save all your data in a usb and install windows 2000 or if you want xp, but xp has given me also a lot of problems. stick with 2000 until microsoft finds a way to make xp function correctly

If you have access to another computer type the error message into the search engine and see what comes up
if it is a virus then Type "stinger" into your search engine and look for "McAfee avert Stinger". this is a stand alone anti virus tool. its only 1.2MB and wont take long to down load. follow the instructions and run it. it should clear any virus's on your computer, ready for you to install a full version
You can down load it to a flash drive on anther computer then plug it in and run it on yours

good luck

The computer does that when it looks to ex cute a file and the file was deleted . if you restore the computer to a previous date the problem may be solved. if not you have to look in the registry and delete this message.
