Sleep Medications. Hypnotics, sedatives, minor tranquilizers, antianxiety drugs. Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Antidepressants, and your over the counter drugs that can relieve mild or occasional sleeping problems. (Diphenhydramine and Dimenhydrinate).

I'm definitely no authority on the subject, but I've heard a lot about sleeping pills as one of the common substances people take to commit suicide. Most people don't consciously try to OD on cocaine or heroin, that's all a result of addiction. Suiciders generally tend to use common household items they can obtain easily.

Most that I've seen were Tylenol, but that's just my experience.

I really hope this is for a class. It upsets me to know that an individual can become so depressed or upset that they result to ODing. Please, if anyone is looking at this for 'ideas', please, just rethink what you're doing.
