Is there even any remote possibility this is true? She says it makes her hair more shiny. I think it just eats up more time in the bathroom when I need to take a sit down.

some conditioners do tell you to do this...however, she could start off in the shower by washing her hair and applying the conditioner and while it's sitting in there, she can do the rest of her body...i'm sure 2 minutes will pass in that time and then she can rinse it out.

Well, if you read the back of any conditioner, the bottle usually says; "Leave in for 2-3 minutes"... at least, that's what mine says. And, leaving it in for those minutes does help get out the knots and leave hair feeling silky and looking shiny.
So the answer to your question is, TRUE.

Yap, she's right if she really wants to have shiny hair. But wouldn't it be better if you ask her to let you use the bathroom first before she washes her hair? It's just a matter of having an arrangement between the two of you.

yeah it actually really does help her hair. If you want her to do something quicker tell her to put mayonnaise in her hair then just wash it out right away,it makes it super shiny. I would do this but mayonnaise is gross and I have a slight phobia of it lol.
