Some people don't understand that Love is only one characteristic of God. It doesn't cancel out his other traits. For instance the Bible says that God hates liars because lying is antithetical to God's being. So it would appear that God has a place for people who will not repent because they love a lie rather than his revealed truth.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Proverbs 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Why do you think God leads people to Hell?

2006-09-04 23:21:15 · answer #3 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

No a loving God would not lead any one to Hell,I'm so glad I'm a christian, because My God,gave people a choice to serve him or not so if a person goes to hell instead of being a christian,it's that person, personal choice

God doesn't lead anyone to hell. He has done everything He can to lead us away from there, but He also gave us free will, so the choice (heaven or hell) is ours to make.

No, a loving God would not, and does not lead anyone to hell.
In the words of the prophets, however, He tells mankind that hell is man's destiny since man's sin in the Garden of Eden. He also tells us in the same scriptures (the Bible) that we can escape hell if we want to avoid it.

But it's up to us to choose to avoid it.

God never leads people to Hell; people send themselves there because of their sins.

God doesn't "lead" people to hell. In fact, "He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." He does, however, give us all a choice: do we want to follow Him, trust Him, believe Him, and spend eternity with Him? Or would we rather follow our own wisdom and go our own way and spend eternity apart from Him?

okay i am speaking from my own religions point of view here and not christianity's, but G-d does not lead people to hell, nor is it a place of eternal punishment... the western worlds opinions of the afterlife have been corrupted by christianity and their unforgiving god but thats not what its supposed to be

There is no such thing as God, especially not a Christian god. People simply rely on god as a crutch, if they stopped and considered the implications of questions like this I think there would be a lot more atheists. And the world would be a far better place...
