Anti evolutionists constantly say that evolution is not truely scienctifically sound because it is just a theory. Well so is the bible. Also did you ever think that you chose christianity because the alternative is very difficult to deal with. I too am afraid of the unknown i fear death because i fear the uncertainty but conforming to faith doesnt make the world a better place. Cant you have values without faith. The truth is that no one knows and no one will ever know what our greater pupose is beyond life. Is it far fetched to say that the point of life is to live.

God understands that lies are every where. That is why when one gets born-again, becomes a child of God, God gives child the Holy Spirit with the spiritual rebirth. The Spirit of Truth & comfort.

1 john 2:27 But the anointing who you have received of Him abides in you and you need not that anyone teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no liar. And even as He has taught you, you shall abide in Him.

Jesus overcame the fear of death when He rose from the dead.

I have faith in the Truth of the Holy anointing. God's Truth has set me free from many deceptions. His book is the bible.

Did you know there were around 300 prophecies in the Bible predicting Christ's birth, life, death, and etc.? And the people who wrote the propecies lived anywhere from hundreds to thousands of years before Christ, lived in different areas completey including anywhere from Italy to what is today Iran, didn't know each other at all, and yet ALL of the prophecies came true EXACTLY how they were told. Mathematician and scientist, Peter Stoner, applies the rules of probability to these prophecies. The chances of just eight of these three-hundred prophecies being fulfilled are one in 10 to the 17th power - that's 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000!

Pharaprased from a website I recently discovered, "One subject that separates the Bible from any other book is prophecy. No other book forecasts the future as this one does. The prophecies are precise. Many times they're hundreds, even thousands of years in advance. And without exception - they are fulfilled - to the smallest detail!"

Also, many scriptures of the Bible can be compared to today's sciences and be completey TRUE! http://www.av1611.org/amazing.html Go to that website. It contains parts of scripture that were written thousands of years before certain scientific discoveries and advancements were made but are very much fact and scientifically true today. "Genesis 2:7, 'And the Lord God formed man of the DUST OF THE GROUND, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.' Surely, you don't take Genesis 2:7 seriously? Do you? November 1982, Reader's Digest had an article titled How Life on Earth Began. It stated that according to scientists at NASA's Ames Research Center the ingredients needed to form a human being can be found IN CLAY. The article said, 'The Biblical scenario for the creation of life turns out to be NOT FAR OFF THE MARK.'(Reader's Digest, November, 1982 p.116) No, it's 'not far off the mark' - it's right on it! Scientists have laughed at the possibility of Genesis having any scientific credibility whatsoever - and yet, the more we learn, the more we find it to be SCIENTIFICALLY CORRECT!"

I can't think of any more reasons to believe the Bible, but the ones I gave I think were pretty darn good ones.

I'm sorry my answer was so long. I just hope that it has brought a little insite and maybe guided you to find your answer, whatever it may be.

It is not far fetched to say that the point of life is to live. Neither is it impossible to have values without faith.

Your values help you make choices on how you want to live. The evolution/creationism debate is merely a sidebar to issues involving faith.

For those that wish to ignore the possibility of life after death, they must acknowledge that the life they live now is as good as their experiences will ever get.
But for Christians particularly, they have come to acknowledge an afterlife with God, and they choose to believe the source that provides the most credible information about God: the Bible.

For the true Christian, life on this earth is as bad as things will ever get for us. And the eternity that we believe in by faith, is a worthwhile goal to live towards.

If Christians are wrong, then our faith has caused us to lead a good life on earth. (Still a good outcome.) We have lost nothing.
But if Christians are right, then non-believers have lost eternity.

Win-Win for Christians.
50-50 for non-believers.

If you don't believe, then why do you post or care. You are just trying to put doubts in the minds of Christians on the fence. The Bible warned us of this. Thank you for testing and strengthning our faith! And for your information true Christians do not fear death...........AND, you are right conforming to a faith does not make the world a better place but it gives us an inner peace. And you are also right about having values without faith. I know this.

The Bible is not a theory,so to speak. It's a book based on the truth. Faith is in God.No in ones fellow man. And that's what makes the world the way it is,your fellow man. I,myself, would rather believe that I was created by God,not craw-out of a pond of ooze

Miracles: I've seen them. How can you explain the supernatural in a naturalistic world?
Prophecies of the Bible: How else can people make predictions of the future and not be laughed out of town? If they keep coming true.
Prayers: Answered prayers indicate something besides atoms in the universe.
Archaeological Evidence: the OT is plump full of names and places and events, a lot of which has been found in Israel, etc. Huh. Interesting.
Testimony of the Disciples: 11 of 12 of the disciples were killed because they wouldn't deny Christ rose from the dead. The other one was exiled. (hint: that stuff isn't in the Bible. It's church history. Don't try and say 'it's all made up!')

There are other reasons that aren't popping up in my mind right now.

Why don't you trust in the Bible?

No, coming from an evolutionary standpoint, you would be wholly consistent to say that the point of life is to live, because this life is all you have.

As for the rest of your diatribe, it would take me far too long than I have patience to dissect it for it's lack of logic, merit, or truth. It would be just as easy for me to ask you "Why do you not trust the Bible?" and claim the upper hand.

If you're determined to be on your path of hopelessness, why do you even give a rip that someone else is taking a divergent viewpoint? I see...."if it feels good, do it"...unless I'm a Christian, then I shouldn't.

The mere idea that evolutionary ideology is so hypocritical should be enough for you to re-examine your position, sir.

I tried to apply Christ's teaching in my life as much as I was able.

The results are good and prove to me that there is truth in the scriptures (the Bible).

Love God with all your being and above all "things", and love your neighbour, even if (s)he is your enemy.

Think about it! If everybody in the world would willingly think and act with compassion AND forgiveness toward the "other" there would not be any conflict, no crime, no hate, no war.

Love IS the answer -whatever the question! Try it - you may get to like it.

Because i have experienced its transforming power in my own life.

I am not sure what the answer is on Creationism. So far the 7 non-consecutive non-24 hour day theory makes the most sense.

I don't fear death.... because I know I'm not going to hell... even if I sin. Now that takes all the power out of sin for me.

The devil knows his future, that's why he is trying so hard right now to convince you that you have lots of time to think about salvation...

but if you knew how fast you'd have to make a decision, uhh....

My advice... I wouldn't gamble with my future. Gambling like this doesn't even come close to a horse race.
