It's not like SUPERRR FRIZZY. It's just not the type of hair that stays in the place I want it to stay, and to get it straight and under control, I have to blow dry it straight & then use a flat iron to straighten it even more. My hair is like wavy/straight.

I can't get a perm because my mom won't let me. Since she's my mom, she says that my hair is fine. But I'm not confident with it, and I'd like to wear it down more often, but the frizziness prevents me from doing so.

Any advice?

Make sure you're using a ceramic straightener. They are indeed more expensive, but they are also longer lasting and ultimately do less damage to the hair, causing less breakage, which causes less frizz!

But i'm getting ahead of myself. Taking control of frizz starts in the shower! For a long time, I thought that shampoo and conditioner didn't matter. I always used the cheapest stuff on the market, and thought that it worked fine. It was only until AFTER i tried other products that i realized... wow, this is doing wonders for my hair! once again, these products are more expensive (controlling curls is expensive altogether!) but they are under $5. I love the new loreal vive pro... I use the kind that says "for dry rebellious hair that's thick"... there's also a fine hair edition of it though! it smells wonderful, adds shine, and there are significantly less frizz. Pantene Pro-V is also a great choice, though they use animal testing as seeing as i'm a vegetarian, i refuse to use products like that.

Make sure you give your conditioner time to sink into your hair! shave or something while it sits in your hair for about 3 minutes.

After you get out of the shower, put in a good leave-in conditioner. I like the following combination:

Sunsilk De-Frizz 24/7 Creme.... its specially designed for frizz prone waves and curls, AND i also use...
Loreal Hot Straight. It's a creme as well, and you definitely need to use this if you plan on blowdrying or straightening your hair.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS...i repeat...ALWAYS use a diffuser on your hair dryer. If this is not an option, use the cool setting that most hairdryers have. It WILL take a bit longer, but no one said this would be easy!!

Take your time straigtening your hair, and when you're through, use FrizzEase Secret Weapon (just a little bit, or your hair will get too oily and greasy!)

Finish it off with an extra-hold, humidity-blocking hair spray.

It won't be perfect, but it WILL be better.

Pink lotion is good to use in flat ironing your hair or even leaving it natural.. Condition it, take care of it the best you can.. There are other products, "Frizz-Ease" ..there are all different types of serums for you hair. There are also products to use when blow drying your hair cause the heat damages it. I wouldn't reccomend a perm to straighten hair, if that's what you mean.. if you're doing a curly perm, be prepared for more frizz too..

When you go to get it cut, do not have it layered or "thinned-out". Layering it makes the top layers shorter and thus lighter, which in turn creates more body or makes ones hair more puffy.

The same goes for "thinning" hair of texturizing it. This also takes weight off of the hair which creates more curl or body, which is usually what someone with curly hair is wanting to avoid.

The longer your hair is, the straighter and less curly it will be, because the length and weight will pull it down. Do make sure to get regular trims. You need to only cut the very ends of the hair.

Make sure that you use a good "professional" (one purchased from your salon) shampoo and condition for curly hair.

Im a stylist and when I get my curly hair straight. I use Redkens Align, and Farouk Chi silk infusion oil, and the Chi Iron Guard. You can also try the Matrix Smooth Down line or the new Back To Basics Bamboo Shampoo & conditioner for straightening hair...but Do try the Farouk Chi Iron guard when you use your flat iron, it protects their hair from up to 450 degree heat.

Honey, I have the same hair. I'm counting down the days to Fall and weather with less humidity. During summer my hair never looks smooth and it waves and frizzes up within an hour of blow drying and straightening the he** out of it.

You're just going to have to blow dry and straighten it. And by perm, do you mean a straight perm (relaxer)? I wouldnt do that even if your mom said yes to it. It causes too much damage!

I dunno how to help you really, but I have the exact same problem. Unfortunately I cant put any products in my hair because it makes it look dirty... so I just straighten it and it usually looks ok. For some reason it always looks better when someone else does it.

I wish you luck though in getting it contained... I know how awful it is!

If you already blow your hair straight and flat iron it, sounds like you need the right product for your hair.

I recommend Aveda Pure-Fume Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade

use an anti-friz serum. i like the sprays better than the creams though, because i feel like it doesnt make my hair greasy.

or if you wanna try wearing your hair curly go to the hair salon and pick up some TIGI "Curls Rock" i use that line when i wear my hair curly... its light, doesnt make hair look greasy and makes hair curlier.
