Is there a meeting place for people who just believe there is a God? Something like what Christians do every Sunday, or Jewish temple, Muslim mosque... but for just God believers? I would like to attend such a place.

Oh and please don't answer this unless you actually know of such a place. I am not looking to be converted or made to feel guilty for not being Christian/Muslim/Jewish or any other religion.

Randy... you must be very stupid. Apparently you cannot read very well.

Also, I live in central Illinois. So if anyone knows of any places in this area, let me know.

Once again, I'd appreciate serious answers only. I don't want to be preached to, or compared to Satan.

Ok I've had about enough of the Christians on here trying to tell me I'm wrong. Not one Jewish or Muslim person has told me I'm wrong. Stop it!

God is in your heart wherever you go . Why would you need to attend a certain place for GOD to be with you. One of the best places I like to go to feel GOD is outside. I hear the birds, feel the wind, and look at the trees and GOD is there.

i probably believe in about the same thing you do, i believe its not my place to decide if god is a she, or a he, or a they, or a them, or an it. its none of my business, and as far as I'm concerned, its not really anyone elses place to decide either. to be able to decide something like that, is to say you are better than god, or know more than god. what if god and buddha, and allah, and all them are all the same thing, or entity, or being, or whatever? who are we to say "no, theres only one truth" ?

honestly, i havent found a place where people who believe such a principle, can gather. i dont think there is necessarily a name for what we do.

honestly, i dont see why i have to be with other people who think like me to honor whatever it is i honor. i see nothing wrong with staying home with my husband and treating each other with the care and respect we deserve, and worshiping whatever it is we worship in the privacy of my own home.

what is it we would get together and talk about anyway, if there were such a place?

while i would recommend an ice cream party every week (just because i like sweets, and i guess you could call me gluttonous) i think people would get really really tired of that pretty quickly.

sorry i dont have a better answer, if it would make you feel any better, you can IM me when you want to talk to someone that shares your religous beliefs!

I have the same problem. The closest thing I have found is the Unitarian Universalist, but that is a church for all kinds of beliefs and includes athiests and Buddists and all kinds of other things I'd never even heard of. I found it to be a place where people who didn't know where to go on Sunday morning could go. I have yet to find a general church that isn't a direct denomination of one of the three religons you mentioned. I hope you find what you're looking for, there have to be more people out there who believe like us.

There is a group called Novus Spiritus. The "church" was founded by Sylvia Browne. It is a refuge for people who are God worshippers (even though the website says gnostic christian), and they aren't looking to convert anyone to any particular belief. They are very nice people and extremely open minded. It's worth checking out. You can read more about them at http://www.novus.org/home/index.cfm

Yes this place exist, it's not only all around us, but someday we'll all meet there at the main gate.

You think like I do, God comes first.
Your to intelligent to try and convert.

It don't matter what Church you go to or what Religion you are, and or if you don't have a religion, God is everywhere, and God comes first.

I don't know if I am going to answer this the way you expected. You say you believe in a God.Why not say you believe in God.The God that the Christian, Etc worship is the only God. Which means if you believe in God, you believe in the Bible. If you believe in the bible then you can just pick a denomination.Such as Pentecostal, Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, which all worship the same God.The Church of God is non-denominational.I don't know that I gave you an answer because your question is confusing, as I know you must be confused also.I think just speaking to several different ministers and reading the Bible will direct you in the right direction. It think it is basically a lack of Biblical knowledge and understanding.I hope this helps.

I think you are looking for the Unitarian Church. Try a Web Search for Unitarian. I once had a Law Professor who was a Unitarian. They have regular services. The music is usually something classical and non sectarian. Your position is perfectly normal, but I think you might find that you need some more help in growing spiritually. Good luck.

I believe Bimpster is correct. I had a friend who believed in God but wasn't sure exactly where she fit in the scheme of things and the Unitarians had the right philosophy for her. Unitarians are encouraged to explore faith until they find out where they really want to be. How that helps put bodies in the pews is beyond me. They have congregations in Urbana, Alton, Wheaton, etc

I think you would be an agnostic but I doubt there is a church just for agnostics, I think you would have to go to an unitarian church where all that matters is your belief in god and they don't care about the rest. Go on yahoo and type unitarian church and your zip code and it should give you results of the nearest one and driving directions or a map

girlwhoknowswhatever, that is not what an Agnostic believes.

But I am with you, I only believe in God and view Jesus as more of a prophet if anything. I don't know what religion this would fall under though, or if there are places to meet.
