I mean ya'll this kid acts so totally gay. Some say that homosexuality is something you're born with, so couldn't it be true that this kid's starting to exhibit the signs? I just wanna know if any of you have any similar or related stories that might give me some insight.

There is no way to be sure how a boy will turn out, as sexual orientation is a complex issue.

Nonetheless, here is one surprising indicator of a boy's "masculinity": the size of his ring finger relative to his index finger.

If a boy has been exposed to normal amounts of testosterone in utero, his ring finger will be longer than his index finger.

Some scientists have speculated that the hormone levels a fetus has been exposed to will have an impact on their life as adults, including sexual orientation.

There were twin boys in my daughters pre school class. One was rough and tumble and the other actually wanted Polly Pockets for his birthday. That kid exhibits ALL the signs of being gay. Even his mom told me she thinks he will be. Many gay people say they knew they were different at a very young age, so I'm sure they showed some signs.

There are some studies that suggest that you can tell from an early age, but it is not definite. Even if you believe he is gay, he will not know until a much later age. Some things which increase the likelihood of homosexuality:
1.) the number of older brothers
2.) being left handed

I hope that helps. Don't worry about his sexuality, just enjoy his childhood.

Yea- he may be, but it also is possible that the child just has not yet begun to relate to his gender specific roles as a male yet. just wait and see- Ive known people who have been gay eversince, and they knew it! But there are others who went through a phase of confusion they out grew, or that are just feminine and not gay. Although the two things often go hand and hand- gender confusion and homosexuality are two totally different things.

sexual orientation doesn't exhibit that early. Mannerisms doesn't MEAN that they are gay. 5-6 year olds are still developing ideas of definite gender identity, often still experimenting. Only time will tell. And remember hindsight is always 20/20.

It's hard to say. In all reality, you are not necessarly "born" gay. It is a choice people make whether they realize it or not. At that age, I wouldn't think too much about it. When he (or she) gets a little older, you will be able to tell, if they dont tell you first.
