As i found in Wikipedia, blood types differ from each other due to the substances in their surface.
A: "Each blood group is represented by a substance on the surface of red blood cells (RBCs). These substances are important because they contain specific sequences of amino acid and carbohydrate which are antigenic. As well as being on the surface of RBCs, some of these antigens are also present on the cells of other tissues."
Why we don't have the same blood type? hmmmm...
A: "Blood types are inherited and represent contributions from both parents. Some blood types are rare, and are primarily found in certain ethnic groups. Some blood types are associated with inheritance of other diseases..."
So there are like 29 blood types because of our human ability to interact (you know what i mean) with different "races" that developed almost isolated for year. Then we interact with each other and our gens (that carry information about different diseases confronted) are combined to make some new blood types.
Very wierd. I dont know if animals of the same species have different blood types. Maybe they will make different blood types if they interact with other "similar" species.

Because God made us in a multitude of ways. First, there is the Rh factor which is present in most people blood, but some people like me and my father don't have it so we are Rh negative. Then there are the various blood types with inter- mix with the Rh factor. The most common type of blood is O positive. O negative is the universal donor. There is A type and B type and AB type which can be negative or positive. Understand? Everyone's blood is blue in their body, but when it hits the air it turns red so we all have red blood.

For the same reason that we don't all have the same hair or eye color......the genes are different.
Blood "type" actually refers to a particular protein that is in the blood. There are two types of protein....You can have either one of em....or have BOTH of em....or NOT have either one.
Type A....Type B....Type AB....or Type O
