Well, there's no problem with that for as long as you're not asking her out at that very moment whenshe is still socializing with them. In fact, a girl will be flattered when you ask her out in front of her friends because some women envy women with lots of admirers.

If she's not shy, she probabally wouldn't mind. If you do ask her in front of her friends, though, chances out she'll do what they're "signaling" her to do. If they act excited, she'll say yes, if they don't and won't look at you, they probabally don't approve and she'll say no. This is not guaranteed, but I was a high school girl once. If you want to get an honest response, do it alone.
