In truth, this situation is only just now arising for me. I make a very good living, and don't need his financial input. However, he is much more well off. If he hadn't let me know this, I'd still want him with everything that I am. How do I make sure that he knows that even if he were as poor as a church mouse, I'd still beg to be his?

you cant honestly. because he has risen to that level to be able to provide for a family. and he would not have told you if he thought it mattered that much.
