I would like to lose some fat and i need to know how much i should eat. I am 5'7" 175 pounds, im in very good shape, i run 3 miles 6 days a week, workout 4 days a week, and do endurance training 2 days a week. But i eat like a monster, usually i only eat about 3000-3500 calories aday, but i can consume over 5000 calories and not even know it. . Most of my body is muscle considering i workout a lot and have seen a very dramtic increase in my strength. I think most of the fat on my body is from before i started to workout (4 years ago). I need to know exactly how much is good amount to eat. As in calories and the amount of carbs. I am capable of eating much less (i only ate 1000 calories today) because i dont "crave" anykind of food. Please answer my question and include tips to lose fat and exactly how much i should eat. Thankx

At your fitness level, why not consult a trainer or a dietitian for more professional advice?

This is a very general guideline, but you also need to consider metabolism and activity level:

10 calories per pound = Weight Loss
15 calories per pound = Maitenance
20 calories per pound = Weight gain

These sites may help you figure out what you should eat and how much.

If the amount of food you're consuming isn't causing you to gain weight, then it's alright for you. Those who exercise a lot and have a lot of muscle mass tend to need more food to keep them going. Just make sure you're still eating healthy foods and you'll be fine.

If you're concerned, it's never a bad idea to call a doctor or nutritionist.

I run about the same as you do a week. I do cardio 6 days a week, bu I don't do endurance. I would cut calories. I only eat 700 calories a day. But I know what you mean about eating a billion calories and it not even affecting you. Haha. Just eat around 1200 calories a day.

There is no set answer, just eat less and maintain your exercise but dont strain or overdo either one of those things. Given time you will be slimmer but its not worth pulling your hair out!
