There is a tech magazine feature the founders of my space. It shows how they grew to 100 million users in a few years. These two guys used it to stay in touch with friends and share music. Just like it is being used now.
It just caught on really quickly.

The original intent of MySpace was for friends to stay in touch, NOT to meet people. That's why you have a Network of friends on MySpace.

I am moving to China next month and I am going to set up a My Space so I can keep in touch with all my friends in the United States. I think it will good. They will know what is going on in my life and can tell me what they are doing.

If you want to talk to friends that have moved out of state, its a good way to keep in touch. I have one to keep in touch with famiy in San Diego that I can't see often and for friends that have moved to New York, Texas, Washington. They are just all over the place.

Its supposed to used to connect with people around you as well as folks from all over. But it seems like everyone I know who uses it is using it as dating sight since you don't actually have to pay to meet people. Sad--just another internet meat market

it is a way to keep in touch with people you know and meet new people that you don't. Its really fun, I'm on it everyday.
