My 4 year old son told me that his babysitter hit him on the bottom and touched his penis. I haven't talked to the sitter yet but this is the first time my son has said any thing like this. I told him no one is allowed to touch him there and to tell me or his dad if something ever did happen. What should I do?

Definately approach the sitter. That is a big deal and should not be left unnoticed. Good for your son to speak up about it before anything else happened.

Well at that age kids do not lie about things like that they just tell it like it is . You are lucky he didn't get scared and he told you about it or it could have gone farther. You do need to confront the sitter but she will more than likely lie to you about it. Be careful how you handle it and talk about it in front of your son because that will determine whether or not he tells you if something like that happens again. If he sees it upsets you he may not let you know later because he won't want you to get hurt but make sure he knows it is wrong for anyone to touch him like that. You need to make sure the sitter is never around your baby again or any other kids. I think you should report he to the police so she doesn't have a chance to hurt other children. I am sorry your son had to go through that I have a nephew that went through that also. Oh you may want to let other parents know so they do not use that same sitter. Word of mouth among mothers travels fast. Good luck on future sitters.

Report it to the police. Let them form an investigation. Do not continue to use this sitter. Whether this did or did not happen as described it is a serious issue. It truly needs further investigation. At this time you have to wonder has this sitter done this to anyone else. You could be the one to put an end to this behavior. Stand tall, do what's right, and be a parent.

Get a new babysitter! Even if your son isn't telling the truth it would make me nuts to think he could be. Even if you do confront the babysitter they probably will deny it. I say get a new one then talk to the old one. You may even want to alert the authorities. (Even if they don't take it seriously if someone later on has this trouble at least they will have a record of what your son said.) I hope everything works out for you.

Call the Police...ASAP!! Don't send him back to the sitter!! How long has he been at this sitter?? Be proactive in this situation, don't let your son be hurt anymore than he already is.

*my hubby is in law enforcement....you wouldn't believe the number of people that are sitting in jail at this moment for this very thing you are describing!! It's not something to be taken lightly!!! It just sickens me to think that some people believe that touching kids is ok or acceptable! In my opinion they should all get the death penalty.*

Young kids don't usually make things like this up... I would confront the sitter and see what they have to say... at the very least I would never use this sitter again... maybe call the police and ask if there is anything you can do?

Don't let that person watch your child again!

Report what your child said to the police. Don't let it go. Make sure someone investigates! Do not confront the sitter yourself. Let the police handle it.

Make sure your son knows that he did the right thing by telling you!

get a new sitter and talk to the old one. You will never fully trust her again so even if it isn't anything bad you won't be able to keep her. I would believe your son and try not to put too much emphasis on the incident so he doesn't blame himself for anything happening or for telling you about it.

report it donot contact sitter at all donot set up nanny cam just means if sitter is touching him obviously you would be putting you child at risk by waiting for proof. go straight to police with you son and someone will be able to talk to you both.

well seems like your son isnt making up stories.you should keep a watch on the sitter and if you find her guilty, fire her instead of talking to her.people like these will not mend their ways, and they also suffer from a psychic disorder, instead you could land in trouble, you could be stepping on a snakes tail by talking to him/her and this could be dangerous
