My mom had that, and she was in terrible pain. I seen my mom actually crawl because it was too painful for her to stand on her feet. She even had cortisone shots in her feet but it didn't help. Mom said she started to notice that after she had eaten certain foods, that her feet hurt even more. So she started to keep track of the foods she ate and how she felt the next day. It turned out to be related. This is how she cured herself and hopefully this will help you too.
She stopped eating cooked tomatoes and cooked spinach and cut way back on potatoes because those three items turn toxic in your system and they kick up arthritis, she also cut back on dairy products. That is really hard for her because she loves dairy. Last but not least she takes vitamin B6, it kicks the heck out of arthritis. I should tell you that plantar facitis is a form of arthritis and it just so happens to settle in your feet. One more thing she exercises daily and lost weight. Good luck to you.

Ooh sorry to hear that. I was in similar situation six years ago and nothing worked and we came so close to having it operated on.

Here's what helped for me, 3 things:

1) Shoes with a slightly elevated heel (maybe 3/4 inch), they weren't even orthopedic, but once I started wearing them the pain decreased substantially and as a result the tissue began to heal. I tried this on a hunch and it worked. These were the dress shoes I wore at work.
2) I was overweight at the time and lost weight. About 20-25 pounds. I unfortunately have since gained some of it back and the heel has minor pain again, so I am trying to lose the weight again. I lost the weight originally through diet, walking and stationary biking.
3) I stopped running...it was too much wear and tear on the heel.

Good luck!

My wife had the same problem. She purchased inserts for her shoes that seemed to help (she has a job that requires standing for 8 hours a day), and her doctor recommended some stretching exercises to do every morning before she stepped out of bed. I'm sorry I can't be more specific. She is now virtually totally recovered.

Oh yeah - been there done that. The doctor can give you an injection in your heel and the pain will go away instantly. Continue to sleep with the brace on even after you get the shot. Also, continue to stretch. You have to take really good care of your feet. Boy, when they hurt you hurt all over huh! But, please get the injection. It does't hurt a bit. You will be amazed at the INSTANT relief you get and you'll wonder why you didn't get the injection sooner! I think you should go to a Podiatrist for your injection....

Are you a runner? The only thing that worked for me when I had it was to stop running for awhile. I hated to do it, but it did get my feet back in good condition. Now I'm a lot more careful about wearing really good shoes, not over-taxing my feet by running too far when I haven't trained enough, etc.
