I care about him as a person and am very grateful for all he did for myself and kids. you could say I love him deeply but have accepted that there is no change for romance with him. How do I tell him not to call when he is drinking without being mean. He has not tried to get back together.

Maybe talk to him when he's sober - tell him that he is unreasonable (or whatever he is) when he's drinking and that you'd prefer to talk to him only when he's sober. Then, if he calls when he's drunk again, calmly say "We talked about this before. I care deeply about you but I don't want to talk to you when you're drinking, so I'm going to hang the phone up now. I hope you have a very good night." Hang up. If he calls back, don't answer - take it off the hook if you have to.

X I've read the rest of your questions and don't understand why you want him to stop calling you when you want to know how to continue being his friend at the same time and is jealous of him being with other women. It's a confusing situation. I think you should get the aswers to who you are first and what you want out of your life.

Don't answer the phone or change your number. He will get the message. You said there is no chance for romance with him.

Change your number and get it unlisted. If he keeps calling and you tell him to stop, and he doesn't report the harassment to the phone company.

Simple CHANGE your number. I'm sure he can call someone if he has a problem. Don't waste your time with it.

I agree with everyone and think you should change your number. This man won't change and you shouldn't stick around waiting for him.

Tell him not to call anymore. As long as you stay nice he will keep calling, you will have to be firm with him...Good Luck!!
