look on start menu click "set program access and defaults"

The EXE for Internet explorer just starts windows explorer in internet mode. Windows explorer can be removed, but along with it you would need another windows shell.

Using the method above will prevent most access to IE.

You should also visit http://www.spywareinfo.com and also download a free trial of spysweeper, & keep using firefox!!

yes, its called INSTALL LINUX

you can still use Firefox with Linux. Check out www.ubuntu.com
Download and burn a Ubuntu Live DVD. The Live DVD allows you to boot off the DVD and use the Internet with Firefox. Afterwards if you feel comfortable, you can install Ubuntu Linux on your computer using the same DVD.

Microsoft had eliminated the internal filesystem browser, and switched to using portions of IE, since XP came out!

The vulnerabilities are legion, and remain. which is another reason that Microsoft.com, hotmail.com, and MSN.com all run on 45,000 LINUX computers!!!

You should, also! http://pclinuxos.com is FREE!

If you do windows WILL not show anything to you

Go into task manager using Ctrl + ALT + DELETE and open task manager and go to proceess and end explorer.exe, this will happen if you remove Internet Explorer!!!

The pop-ups are because you have Malware installed on your computer. Go to http://www.lavasoftusa.com and download Adaware. It is free and will get rid of the Malware.

You get Malware by downloading and installing free software like file-sharing software.
