I'm no expert but I think the only way you can get gun rights back is to get a pardon from the president or the governor. You may be able to get your record expunged. any of these option will be an uphill batlle, as well as very expensive.

What makes you think you should get your gun rights back? You did the crime do the time. It's supposed to be a deterrent to others, which doesn’t really work all that well if the punishment isn’t made to stick. If you need something for self-defense I would look into a knife or mace.

You would have to get a pardon. Otherwise a convicted felon can not purchase, possess or own a firearm.

If you are a convicted felon, you cannot own a firearm, nor can you reside in the same home as someone who owns one.
