If you live fairly close to a dental school in your state, i would look into becoming a patient there. The fees can be as low as half the $$$ than going to a private practice. When i was in dental school (in Georgia), i had patients traveling anywhere from 2 to 4 hours from their respective hometowns to see me when i was a student and as a dental resident. The trade off is the amount of time for the money. It will take a little bit longer to get your dental work done because students and dental residents would be working on you and need to be followed up by their professors, but at least you will know that you are getting the best treatment possible and it will be double and triple checked.

In reference to your dental problem, it looks like you would be a great candidate for an implant to replace that decayed tooth. But if you have an active infection you will not be able to get the implant immediately. It is possible to place an implant there as soon as you take out the tooth, but it needs to be placed in healthy bone. You might be able to get a flipper (a retainer with a fake tooth on it) to wear during the period between having the tooth extracted and when you get the implant done. If an implant is not possible, then either a bridge or a partial as a last resort.

Good luck!

Find the nearest dental college teaching hospital. They often do free or low cost work on people who qualify for their program. You might have to travel a little ways, but often they will do a number of things at one sitting if you want them to do that. Best of luck. Maybe a local dentist would know where the closest teaching dental school is. Free clinics will only pull teeth so that is not the answer. Don't give up find that dental school.

The best advice i can give you is to see if there is a dental school in your area. Care from a dental school is just as good and quite a bit cheaper. Also many times students need people to work on when taking their exams. Good luck

Try a dental school!, they may not be qualified yet but there is always someone supervising that is qualified...
