I am 32 weeks pregnant and I have started to have contractions and all that good stuff. My baby has already dropped, and I am very uncomfortable. My stomach is constantly sore, and recently, since he has dropped I feel like I have to poop like crazy when I was constipated like crazy before. When I have a contraction now that he is so low it feels like I am going to pee all over myself, even if I didnt have to pee before. Has anyone experienced this? Also after you drop how long does it usually take before you go into labor? I have an appointment on thursday, but I was just wondering before then. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions about how to get comfortable in some way to make me feel a little better.

Here's what worked for me, to make sure all my urine came out when I was 8 and 9 months pregnant and HUGE.

When you sit on the toilet, gently hold up your stomach away from your lap. It will relieve the pressure from the weight of the baby and makes it easier for the urine to move through your system. The pressure is the same reason why you have to poop so much.

It probably won't be much longer. Take walks every day, drinks lots of water, take a nap when you can, eat the right foods.

The baby is probably on your bladder. I had this problem and I agree it was aweful but there is nothing you can do about it other than trying to find a comfortable possition to lay or sit in. As far as how long you can go.... 32 weeks is no where near long enough. My 2nd child was born at 34 weeks and he spent 28 days in the NICU , he had no sucking reflex and an immature nervous system that caused his heart and breathing to stop when he slept. A full term baby is 37-42 weeks. Just because the baby feels as though it has dropped does not mean immediate labor is eminant , nor should you want it to. While babies are able to be saved from 20 weeks on... it isn't always pretty and going home without your baby is a horrible thing to go through. Just make the best of it and realize this too shall pass. 5 weeks will come and go before you know it.

Hate to tell you but you just have to wait it out. You're only 32 weeks. Believe me, you don't want that baby coming out anytime soon, no matter how uncomfortable you are. Just drink lots of water, do breathing exercises, lay on your left side with a body pillow and take walks while the weather still permits.

As for "dropping", it doesn't happen like that. The baby slowly descends into the pelvis, it doesn't drop. You may look like you're carrying low now, but you still have 8 weeks. The baby still has a lot of weight to gain and a lot of moving to do. Even if the baby has started to descend, its head is still unlikely to be anywhere near the birth canal. Of course there are exceptions that lead to pre-term labor and delivery and a preemie, which is not the best case scenario.

I know it sounds like a cliche, but find a new hobby or "pregnancy project". You just need to take your mind off it as much as possible. I was 36 weeks this time 3 years ago with my daughter and remember the discomfort clearly--I completely empathize. Unfortunately, there is nothing at all, no trick, no old wives' tale you can do. Just be patient. Sorry! Good luck.

it really depends on much longer you will be before you go into labour that is for sure. Yes it can be quiet normal to be constipated and the need to pee. It is very uncomfortable when the baby drops. but this is the one and only time you will have the baby drop this wont happen with the next baby. And also even though I am sure your feeling sick and tired of been pregnant now its the last few weeks now so try not to get to stressed out. All the best

I've been pregnant twice, boys for me too, and girl you are so close to having a baby that you wont truly be comfortable for probably about 6 - 8 weeks. But try a nice chair with maybe a massage from your honey and some mind numbing TV. And if your worried about the peeing thing go to the bathroom, then try to put on a dress or bath robe or something loose and cozy. You lucky girl you are almost there - CONGRATULATIONS - the end is near and you get the greatest prize in the whole world for going through it all. Both of my babies came pretty fast, like take it easy, your creating a miracle.

Sounds like you could go any day, but you are really not far enough along to deliver, unless maybe it was figured wrong. You should be around 37 weeks for a full term delivery. The baby's position may be causing some of that, and the position may change slightly before you deliver. I hope you will make it until Thursday at least, but there's nothing wrong with stopping by an urgent care center to have a doctor take a look at you. Or you could stop by your doctor's office and let them know about your symptoms. Better to check it out.

If you havent lost your mucus plug, I suggest soaking in a very full tub of water. Man, does it feel good to be weightless for even a few minutes when you are that far along!! I soaked EVERY night. You could also try kneeling and putting your hands on the floor in front of you and letting your belly just hang. That takes pressure off of everything.
Sorry to say it, but starting to get small contractions usually doesnt mean labor is on its way. Be patient. It will happen when the time is right.

It sounds to me like you have a UTI. Those are VERY common during pregnancy, and can bring on braxton hicks. If you are thinking you are in true labor, walk walk walk, and if the contractions stop you will know you are not. If they intensify, go get checked! But I think you have a UTI. I would see if you can drop off a sample of urine and have it tested before Thursday because you don't want to wait with that!

Also CONGRATULATIONS!!!

It will only get worse and more uncomfortable. If this is your first baby you can drop 1 month prior to delivery. But it sounds like your contractions and the pressure in your lower abdomen it kind of sounds like labor. Call your Dr or his nurse and talk to him about your concerns they will let you know if they need to see you earlier than Thursday. Good luck

Well, I had the pressure on my bladder and rectum when I was in active labor. So, you should call your doc first thing in the morning and tell him whats going on. It sounds like you are in active labor.

And, it can happen that early with your first. My friend just had hers four weeks early. And, another six weeks early.

I dropped throughout the last trimester. Until the point where I felt like he was at my knees, lol! He was low the last two months before I went in labor.

Good Luck!

And, please call your doc tomorrow. You don't want to deliver that baby on your way into work!
