Why do we need compound sentences, and why is it important to the reader that the writer uses this topic correctly?

Compound sentences help explain things more fully and can give more flow to writing. You can relate two time periods to one another like past to present. Or you can use it to connect two thoughts, or conditional phrases like if/then.

If you write just simple sentences, then this sentence wouldn't exist. Instead, you'd get the following: See Spot run. See Dick run. Run, Spot, run. See Dick throw stick. See Spot get stick.

Compound sentences are DEFINITELY easier to make as they involve use of simple phrases and conjunctions like ---and, or etc.

So they are definitely simpler than simple sentence and complex sentences.
