I dyed my hair a darker color, and when my gay friend saw it, he said " you dyed your hair!" so I said "yeah, doesn't it look good?" and at first he went to tell me it looked good, but instead he said " no it looks...Fine" and he put his head down and walked away. now I thuoght gay guys are the best ones to ask about fashion advice..do I make him uncomfortable??

No, just because he's gay dosn'gt mean he has tghe best fashion sense in the worl (stereotype) he probaly didn't like it all that much but didn't want to hurt your feelings

I don't mean to assume the worst, but maybe he just doesn't like the new color. His surprise on the dye job and subsequent reaction would tell me that your new color may not be what he would have chose for you.

It might have been a tad insensitive. All gay men are not hairdressers, nor are they all fashion experts. He may have felt like you stereotyped him

i don't really know that much about gay guys but the one i new he new what to wear and gave good advice but i always thought that they were or maybe hes just jealous

maybe he isn't comfortable yet with being gay and your asking his opinion made him realize that you are putting him in the "oh he's gay so then maybe he knows all about fashion" category

it is incredible to me that you have fallen victim to stereotyping such as that....saying all gay men are fashion gurus is like saying that all black men are gangbangers...offensive, and simply not true.
