Say one day your child comes home and tells you that they are gay or lesbian. Would you love them any less. Would you disown them and have nothing to do with them or love them as you always have?

I think it is unrealistic to think that parents wouldn't be somewhat disappointed that their child is gay/lesbian because of preconceived ideas about how their children should grow up. However, I don't think that a parent should be disppointed IN their child or love them any less. Your child is yours no matter who they sleep with. Loving them should be like breathing air.

I think I would cry. I only have 1 son and 1 daughter and I want them to be happy, but our religon is not very accepting of homosexuals. I would deffinatly be a little upset, shocked, but would get over it eventually when I realized that this is what would make my child happy. Oh, and I would probably also blame myself at first.

It would be a hard and difficult situation, but in the end you can only support your child, they are going to do what they wish with or without your support. So be part of there life and educate them and support em.

They would still be the child I bore and have loved all of their life. My love would not change and I would support them in any way I could.

I would love them. I think maybe I would be a little sad because of all the pain they will have to face but I would still love them for sure!

Any "real" parent who "really" loves their child would not think any differently. Being gay is not a choice..

It wouldn't change the way I feel about them. As long as they're happy I honestly wouldn't care but my husband would FREAK OUT! I would have a lot of mediating to do.

I love my children no matter what they will throw at me. If they come home and tell me that they like girls, It will be totally fine. The love for your child should be unconditional. :D
