elect engineering. Starting salary is good. Buy in time to come, civil eng. has more advantage in term of wages. However, oppurtunity in elec is greater than civil..
This is for your to evaluate, and very depending on which country you stay in. For develop country, elect will be good as it covers from HT, MV, LV and ELV system but Civil is limited.

There is a boom in economy world over. Economy boom can sustain only on the basis of infrastructructure. Infrastructure is the basis for economic development. So, there is a bright future for civil engg.

Both have merrit and are good fields to be in.
I believe civil engineering gives a person a broader working knowledge and looks better for resume's.

Electrical cos it drives the power infrastructure of any modern industrial. But dun belittle civil.. it depends on the opptunities in your area and your interest.
