big dark eyes, brown on ears. did not recognize the name of the breed can not remember what the owner said it was. looked like a cross of a bichon and a maltese or something like that. very soft hair, non-shedding type. adorable

Could this have been a Cotton? they are a small mnostly white breed and they do resemble a bischon - Does Cotton sound familiar? you should check out some pictures on the internet.

Could be French Spaniel which is what Pappillons used to be called and they used to have floppy ears. Some called phalenes still do have floppy ears. Hope this helps.

Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen? it sounds like that........i am not that aqainted with french breeds on a little bit. Though it does sound alot like a Havanese.

probably a coton de tulear, they look like what a bichon would if you brushed all the curl out of their hair.
