First, have your blood pressure checked somewhere other than at a carnival. I had a long conversation with a nurse at a local blood pressure machine, and she said that before anyone takes their blood pressure they should sit down and be at rest for about 20 minutes. She said that even just walking around a store can make blood pressure higher. My friend and I - who both had slightly high blood pressure after using the machine - sat and kept re-taking it until it came out normal. (We joked that we would just keep taking it until we got the numbers we wanted.) My point is that sitting there for a while changed the reading.
High blood pressure can lead to heart attack and/or stroke. It is said that losing even 15 lbs can lower blood pressure. People with high blood pressure are usually told to limit salt intake, although I have heard there's a chance that this may not make much of a difference.
Normally, people with high blood pressure are given medicine to lower it.
You should stay away from caffeine if you have high blood pressure.
You should go somewhere where you can have your blood pressure taken by someone like a nurse, or at least go to a local drug store that has a blood pressure machine and sit there for 20 minutes and then take your blood pressure.
If your blood pressure came out just "borderline high" at the carnival there's a good chance you really have "high normal" blood pressure that was higher because you were walking around and at a carnival. If it came out way over the line between normal and high its more likely you have more serious high blood pressure. It is recommended that people with even "high normal" blood pressure get it down with weight loss and diet changes.
Really, you should see a doctor, who can prescribe medication.

Talk to a doctor who will tell you (very likely) to loose weight, cut down your salt intake, and exercise. They might also prescribe medications depending on some factors.
High blood pressure can cause strokes, contribute to anuerysms, and cause organ failure if left unchecked. Remember our bodies are basically water balloons and high blood pressure is the equivalent of over-filling that balloon. It's very serious and you'll want to speak with a professional about it!

I would seek medical advice from a doctor. Have it checked by your doctor and assess why it is high. It could be due to hereditary issues or weight etc. In the long run it puts pressure on your artery walls and causes problems (can cause stroke, kidney problems etc.).
I would also suggest to buy your own wrist cuff to measure it home under various conditions.
I would suggest to get it under control. Nothing to play with. Mine went up with anxiety. See below !

you need to see a doctor, my husband found out he has high blood pressure, he has to take medication to keep it under control. He cannot have a lot of salt intake (table salt, chips, etc). It helps to drink orange juice, eat things full of potasium such as bananas, grapes. Pizza he can't have a lot of either, so you may have to change the things you are eating, some foods you love which may be high in salt, and cholesterol may have to be taken completely out.

you should make an appointment to see your doctor.
high blood pressure increases your risk of strokes, heart attacks, clogged arteries, heart disease, kidney failure and ultimately death. you made need to exercise more, eat a diet low in sodium, fat and cholesterol, or take medication for your blood pressure and cholesterol.
high blood pressure can be extremely dangerous, but in most people it is easily controlled with a few lifestyle modifications and medications.
