Dr. Robert Spitzer (the same guy who got homosexuality removed from the official list of "disorders") published a study a few years ago where he searched all over the country for people who had been gay but "converted" and now consider themselves straight. The good news, for you, is that he found some. So it is technically possible for some people - at least, it has been done by some people at some time.
The not-so-good news, from your current perspective, is that in 18 months of searching, Dr. Spitzer only found 200 examples. I don't know how many have tried, but I'd say somewhere on the order of 2 million at the low end. Just to give you an idea of your chances.
On the other hand, the people who've been telling you that you "need to be straight" are in fact full of sh1t. It does not actually say anywhere in the Bible that homosexuality is wrong. It says that for a man to rape another man is wrong, but you'd kind of assume that anyway. It says that for a man to have sex with another man is wrong, but that's in the Old Testament laws, where it also says that eating pork and shellfish are wrong, and working on the Sabbath is punishable by death. So I wouldn't let it worry you too much.

Why do you need an on line course? I disagree with the advice you were given, what exactly is the ex gay ministry? The Bible says that a lot of things are wrong. A LOT. The best way to become more Christlike is spending time in the word. Focus on the Family had some info on one of their broadcasts about this a while back. I am sure if you contact them , they should be able to help you. Please don't worry yourself over this. Try to relax a bit and not feel like this is something you need to do yesterday. The Bible says Jesus came to save sinners like us. we all fall short of the mark. Just patiently work on it. All the best to you my friend.

Since most people are bi-sexual by nature you don't HAVE to be ridgely straight to be a true christian, In spite of what your pastor says. You just need to accept Jesus as your lord and savior.Yes there are brain washing classes and sites that will try to turn you around. But their success rate is absysmial lots of relapses . You did not mention your age but I would guess that you are between 12 and 16yrs the age when most people have an idenity crisis of one type or another. You will grow out of this when the time is right. right now it just may feel more comferable to have some type of sexual contact with people of your own gender. If you are questioning your choice now then you have three paths to follow 1. stay on the gay life style and accept it as your choise. 2. try having sex with a female and see if you like that better.3. stay on the bi-sexual path and really confuse your life as far as how others precieve you.
Satan has nothing to do with this it is within your self. between your physical bodaly needs for sexual gradifacation and your soul (whichcame from God) and follows Gods laws about replenishing the Earth(having children to pass on your genes to).
Either way you will still go to Heaven.
Only the most hard core gays will not have off and on sex with a person of the oppsite sex . It just meansyou will have diffacultes in making up you mind(unless the other person has set their mind on having you and no other) .
Reread the NEW TESTAMET more than one version and you will see that Jesus had his own problems just like everyone else with growing up . Also HE was quite the party person. So get off the PURE and Christlike gig unless you want to be a preist or a hermit.and liive in the real orld where perfection is a goal that is seldom met and if met seldom lasts.

This is funny. You are Gay .. OK. I am Straight.. You love Jesus and so do I. Awesome. Every Day I fight thoughts of lust. And so do endless others of our brothers and sisters. What we are lusting is not important. The one place it really doesn't matter if you are gay or straight is the church body of Christ Jesus. What is so funny?
You said it in the first line... I'M GAY AND I NEED TO BE STRAIGHT. LOL If you are gay then you are not straight. I know what the Bible says about it. And I also know what the Bible says about pride, not honoring your mother and father and putting anything above God.
Please read Romans 7 and 8. It IS the explanation you are looking for. If I don't see you before we get home to heaven I will see you there and we will laugh about the time you said you needed to be straight.
GOD bless you bro!

I studied to be a minister in the Church of Christ during highschool, and all the while I was praying to be turned straight. I spent ten years on my knees, and, when it failed, I figured well, while I'm on my knees, I may as well get some action...
Seriously, you are in for a rude awakening.
You *need* to be straight? Why is that?
You really think that, presuming it exists, the Prince of Darkness cares if you have sex with men or not...
You will never turn *straight.* Never. Not all your prayers to your "god," not all the therapy, electro-shock, or "re-orientation" game-playing...
Take my advice: Live with it. You'll be homosexual until the day you die...

That is so wonderful that you want to change your life. You are doing the right thing. I have a friend who once used to be homosexual as well. But his faith in the Lord, along with prayer, helped him to deal with his sin. The Lord delivered him from his homosexuality. Don't give up on your journey, because I have seen with my own eyes that this is possible. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE when you turn your problems over to God. I'm really unsure of any websites that can help you. Also, to anyone who tells you that it's okay to be gay, it's not. I have friends who are gay, and I love them just the same as everyone else. But just remember that in the Bible, it is a detestable sin, and God says that there is no place in the Kingdom of Heaven for such people. (Read Leviticus) But, i want you to know that i just took a break from the typing and said a prayer for you. Keep your faith in Him, and i KNOW that He will get you through this. If you need anything else, email me. And please remember that is nothing too big for the Lord to handle. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. And pay no attention to the negative people who have answered your question. They are under the work of Satan, and they do not yet know the Lord. God Bless You...please don't hesitate to email me if you need anything else!!

Wish I could help more but don't know of any sites like you want. Will keep you in prayer though. Keep up the good work and don't let anyone deter you from going the straight and narrow. Even if you are not rewarded in this life as you may hope, you will be rewarded in the next life. May God richly bless your efforts. Might want to check out the site below to do some more study on the bible.

Sweetie, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being gay! My two older brothers grew up just being brothers, and they were raised as Jehovah's Witnesses. When my brother came out, no one was really surprised, and definetly not upset, except my oldest brother. Two siblings who grew up loving one another unconditionally now haven't spoken in 4 years. I respect your religious beliefs, and I also understand why you would want to change to be more Christlike. But, honey, no matter what you do, or how many long hours you try to change it, you will always be gay. There is nothing you can do. It's like saying you want to change your DNA because you find out someone in your family slept with someone you don't approve of! It's not gonna happen. If you can embrace it, you will be a much happier individual! "Self Flogging" may make you look better in your Pastors eyes, but, ultimately, you will end up wishing you had just been you! Personally, I think God would rather have you be happy and Gay then unhappy and faking straight! People will get over it, even the ones you think you have let down. It's not your fault, because it's not a problem! Heck, my gay brother is one of my favorite people in the world! Please, don't be miserable to make yourself look better in your Pastor's eyes. Believe it or not, there are Gay people happy in Heaven, too! Just be yourself, babe! Good Luck and God Speed!

Hi, I was very happy to read your question - the fact that you are seeking help as you are correct, homosexuality is wrong in God's eyes and since it is a lifestyle of sin, can be detrimental to your eternal life. That being said, you will need a lot of prayer and determination of heart to be delivered of this as Satan will try to stop your efforts at every turn. Saturate yourself with the Word of God, the Bible, be in Christian fellowship and seek Christian counseling. Atay away from those of homosexual orientation. May God bless you very much and may you stay strong in your desire to become Christlike.

You've made the first great step in a long journey upward to the father's favor.
Recognizing and admitting it is sin takes courage...
Full repentance is hard but the Holy Spirit will see you through if you don't give up when you fail.
God Bless...I'll be praying for you . Congtrats on the decision to seek God's help.
