If there had been a Jesus, a real Jesus instead of a bunch of myths strung together to invent a god figure, I think he would have done exactly what you said, at any time in the history of Christianity including now.
Look at what is being done worldwide in the name of Christ!

This kind of 'what if' question depresses me. People have so little understanding of either 1) What the Bible says or 2) What is in the Bible is true.
When Jesus returns to earth, and He has not, everyone will know.
There will be no mistaking His second coming. When He returns, He will remain on earth for 1000 years and reign with the saints.
You speak of Christian fanatics as if Christ would be displeased with that. Christ would be pleased greatly if people were fanatically following His teachings. That would be a Christian fanatic. I believe you are referring to people who have fanatic ideas that are in opposition to the teachings of Christ. There is a difference.
The phrases fanatic, zealot, Jesus freak, Bible thumper, etc are thrown around like insults when truly a Christian should consider such a title as a confirmation that they are doing exactly what they are called to do. A person who follows the teachings of Christ should stick out in this world; such a person cannot blend in to modern society without people noticing that said person is different. By our actions people will know our love for Christ.

If you would review the historical setting in which Jesus lived and the way He was received you will discover He was the fanatic of His time. So much so they killed him. Much like the hatred toward Christians today.

Good point. Fanatics need to be reminded: Judge not that ye be not judged.
