I am getting my own place (this is the first time that I will be out on my own), and I'm buying all of the essentials for my apartment. I bought cookware today and found these really great looking utensils. The cookware is non-stick, but the utensils are stainless with no coating. Will the utensils scratch the coating off of the pans?

I only use wooden spoon and plastic spatulas on my non-stick pans. Why take the chance of ruining your new pans?

The utensils that you purchased will scratch the coating off the pans. Use the proper utensils for the coating and temperature at which you plan to cook. Some of your cheaper brands will melt when you cook if you don't buy for higher temperatures. You can use wooden spoons also. Happy cooking!!!!!! Also, don't forget to buy the proper sponge to clean the cookware. Don't use something that will scratch it such as SOS or Brillo.

Depend on the cookware that you bought, some are scratch resistant but alot of them are not, read cleaning instructions that come with your cookware to be sure, If they are not scratch resistant then yes your utensils will scratch your cookware.

No you can not use metal utensils with your non-stick pans, they will scratch them. Wooden spoons are great, as are heat treated plastic untensils. Don't worry it is easy to find everything you need.
