If this is your first time and you want to see EVERYTHING and really gawk, give it 7-9 days depending on your prefered pace. If you just want to take a quick look at the big stuff and have 1 day of in depth stuff (dinner, show, big tour) 3-5 days should be good. Don't forget that a portion of your first and last day will be eaten up by travel!!! Have Fun!!

if it is your first time a minimum of 7 days but more like 10 especially if you go in December (Christmas shopping, etc) and may (when the tony awards are there. so many celebrity's but if you like baseball you can take a mets or yankee game in).
i like may because of the weather, celebrity sitings, easy to get around weather wise, and many great plays and baseball games to go too. also, there are so many great restaurants and many have tables outside so you can eat and people watch at the same time! 10 days would be expensive but if money is no object then go in may then go back in December to shop for 7 or 8 days but dress warm!

Well... it all depends, but I would say no less than a week... if you can, stay for 10-14 days.
