The past makes you who you are and it's always good to look forward to the future, but you need to enjoy the blessings you have in the here and now too.

The past is filled with good memories and you just don't want to let it go, because people know that they felt good about themselves, and didn't have to worry about certain things then. Others are more focussed on what's going to happen tomorrow. With everything going on today (government, technology, etc.) it's hard to live in the moment... everything today is so fast paced. I like the line from RENT:

"There is no future, there is no past
I live this moment as my last
There's only us, there's only this
Forget regret, or life is yours to miss
No other road, no other way
No day but today"

i don't see that dresses. I see a remarkable, gifted, humorous guy. i admire ya only the way you're, ((((((((((Jack)))))))))). No faith, no ailment can substitute that. And, to be honest, i don't supply a rat's asss what any faith has to assert approximately HIV - or homosexuality. So, i won't be in a position to rather say how this is been stimulated via it. overall, faith maintains to be oftentimes happening in an afternoon and age while humanity could be previous such archaic thinking using fact human beings like to have an excuse to choose others - a minimum of, it is optimal to the Abrahamic religions. And, I say "screw 'em".

I live in the past sometimes because I have great memories in the past and it helps me escape from my problems. That might be why people live in the past and some people live in the future because they want great things for themselves and others and look forward to really good things.

I can not remember who said it but
"People live in the past to remember things they regrett or pleasures they have lost. They live in the furture to dream of things to come. The fail to see the present, as they would then have to deal with the difficulties of life"

I would think, that its because the present is not satisfying enough so revert to the past or fantasize about the future.

You're right, I'm guilty as charged. Thanks for the reminder. I have no reason to be anxious about the future because I know God will take care of me, and I can't change the past.

Its interesting that in the movie "Empire Strikes Back" which has Hindu philosophy through Yoda when he talks about this. "I can not teach him...the boy has no patience...his mind always on the future! Never concerned about where he is going..." I replied to your question because if you have not seen this movie please do and go to the Yoda swamp scene it decribes your question subject perfectly.
